Khyber just responded to your pm! We'll send you a new box just to be safe. If it's actually keeping the hood open slightly when it's fully closed, the box may not have been completely trimmed.

Sasuketr The left corner should be higher - the left side is towards the windshield so therefore it's higher as it follows the slope of the hood.

The trim needs to touch the hood liner so it creates a proper seal to keep out the hot air. We've scanned the engine bay and the underside of the hood to ensure the seal is a perfect fit.

The only other thing it could be from looking at your pics was you didn't cut quite enough material off when removing that resonator piece from the air inlet?
nah. that resonator piece is completely gone. that part is below the box.

Mine is also supposed to be delivered today and I can't wait to install it while the paint dries on my calipers that I'm planning on painting tomorrow.

I'll finally get to drive my car with it installed today, can't wait! Gonna take the car up to the performance shop so they can see their powdercoat work and do some data logging.

While waiting for the new box, I would at least try to see if the back left corner of the box is sitting/hitting something when you put it in. I remember a couple of lines at the engine that I had to make sure the box didnt hit. Might be worth a try to pull the box back out, and try reseating it, paying attention to if anything interferes.

Edit- Also make sure the plastic intake pipe is rotated down towards the fan shroud as close as you can get it

Installed mine last night in the dark. Everything went smoothly except my hands are way too big to get back into the firewall so I didn't put the plug in.

It was a little difficult getting the elbow to line up nicely with the velocity stack but with some cranking down on the worm gear clamps it isn't going anywhere. Just seems a little weird to have so much emphasis on the clean air being pulled into the velocity stack only to have such a rough transition from the velocity stack to the elbow.

Also, the PCV adapters. They seem to fit sort of loose in their grommets. Is that normal? Doesn't take much effort to pull the adapter out of the grommet.

Everything`s ready Can`t wait to do my Steeds CAI install this weekend! Thanks Khyber , I will check with the box first for hood clearance problems:thumbsup: My filter was a little heavy on oil so I put some paper towels inside to soak up the oil, probably a little to paranoid:lol: And thanks to David @ Steeda:clap2:

David@Steeda are there any issues with using K&N recharging kit on this filter? I couldn't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be advisable, just thought I'd ask as I'd prefer a red color ;)

I called Steeda tech with the same question because I want the red also and they said to use K&N cleaner and red oil no problem. But let Dave confirm this, I have not changed the color until I install and everything works good:thumbsup:
