i've reached under the box around it, nothing is blocking it. it just seems like it's, I don't maybe less than .25 inches too tall. there's just no way it can go further down. I'll just have to ask david. I know 'Merica is about to install his and he's local so we'll see how his turns out.

Yeah I just sent in for a 93 tune on my 18 inch wheels so hoping to get it this weekend and have it on! David has been awesome answering my questions about everything and I look forward to the extra power!

So Landon, one thing you can try is to take that rubber grommet out from under the bottom of the box. I know it's on the opposite side from the edge that's contacting the hood liner but it should still lower the box a little. If it resolves the issue you can get by without it as there's another bolt tying the box down nearby.

so gotta question for all steeda intake owners.

I believe the box is pushing on my hood. I know it's supposed to seal against the hood but I think it's pushing the front driver side part of the hood up. It's barely higher than the passenger side but the front driver side is definitely higher causing the passenger side to be lower. Near the windshield it's lower on the driver side than the front of the hood on driver side.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the steeda box lower. I mean it's gotta go down just a tad so it's not pushing. I can't figure it out. Everything appears to be correct but the box is just slightly higher causing it to push on the hood. any ideas? hood closes with ease though like normal...but i know it's pushing because the box now has a slight bend in towards the direction of the filter above the maf and I can see a decent imprint on the hood's heat shield.
Did you make sure the "pin" went into the rubber gasket you reused from the stock airbox?

i see where it compresses the most on the heat shield. it's the part of the box right above the maf which is the tallest part on the box.

I'll see if I can get some pics of the impression but don't exactly have the greatest lighting in the garage
Khyber,

Do you see the rubber stoppers for the hood? Turn both right and left one counter clockwise to give you more slack under the hood! These stoppers are also used for hood alignment.

I'm waiting for my Steeda intake to arrive for my 2016 GT. I was told it would be here by The end of next week. I have two questions. First, does the intake come with the parts to delete the sound tube? And second does the box go over the top of the hood vent the allowing water to get into the intake, and also blocking off one of the hoods heat extractors?? David@Steeda

yup that side of the box is fine. it's the side at the maf and above it only.

i'll check that right now. swore i turned them earlier but didn't seem like turning them was doing anything

ok tried the stops. really not changing anything. it's the box. i took some pics.

the hood is in the latch but not pushed all the way down. it's already touching the hood before being completely latched. I even loosened up the box. there is simply no where for it to go down on that side at all. it's in right. it has to be. there is just no getting it to go down. box is sitting on that inner frame part where the bolt is. not is pushing the box up from underneath it at the maf.

and you can see the filter

The only other thing it could be from looking at your pics was you didn't cut quite enough material off when removing that resonator piece from the air inlet?

Yup,

It looks like tilted a little. Can you take a picture with the hood open from a similar angle? Also try to put a level there and see if its tilted or not! Worse case, you might have to modify your base housing a little.

Khyber,

Before i left home i checked out that housing! Mine is still waiting to be installed. That left corner where the seal goes on top seems to be higher than the rest of the corners! I will take a picture when i get back home again. I might end up with the same problem.
