My grandsons wanted to play in Papa's car. So I put them some of my old retired helmets. Buckled them up and let them play. They had a blast. It's the simple things of life that I really appreciate. My daughter said "so this is how it starts"

It's never too early to get the next generation into cars.

It was one of my favorite things to do when I was their age. Get in my grandfather's "white night" 1968 Impala and play like I was driving. Some kids REALLY like cars when they are young. You can see them when you drive by in an interesting car. They look and listen. They'll almost break their necks turning to see a car with a V8 and good sounding exhaust. It's almost primal. That was me when I was young.

When I was that age (80 tomorrow) my brother and I used to run through the house with pot covers pretending they were steering wheels; had the “bug” ever since!
Unfortunately (for me) my kids and grandkids never got the addiction☹

I was 10 when I got my first ride in a 2 year old '66 Mustang notch back hi-po 289 my dad bought as a second car, as my older brother just got his license. He put glass packs on it. I was hooked... hard. My brother recently sent an old (faded) picture of it to me, brought a tear to my eye...

This is awesome! Anything to keep them far away from phones & social media.

Is that a LeBaron convertible? Those are awesome, and so rare these days lol
Yes, it is. It's a '95 the wife bought for my 40th. I kept it 25 years and then gifted it to my son. He still has it.

I had an '89 LeBaron GTC 2.2 turbo. Bought it brand new in '89. It was a fun fast car back in the day. It would beat a stock square eye '85-'86 Mustang GT back then, which was pretty much the "big boy" on the block.

Those 2.2 Turbo variants were nuts, even though they were quite rare in the grand scheme of things. You could even get a Caravan with one and a manual transmission. That must have been a shock for a lot of people to get gapped by one....

I had a '87 Shelby Charger GLH-S. Almost nobody I talk to these days has heard of it. It would lose to LX 5.0s, but Shelby Automobiles / Mopar came out with a "Stage 2" chip (swapped out the entire 80's computer in the kick panel) and the tables turned.

Those old turbos with lots of lag were super FUN. Nothing....nothing....nothing then SLAM!
