I needed new tires as they were very bald and I had the front right wheel hub replaced as it was shot, which caused uneven wear on the tire and the other tires were well below tread depth, borderline easy blowout.Hello; A number of possible scenarios. Some on the shop. Some on you. The first thing as another has written is to take a look at the wheels. "Bent " can mean some different things. One is no obvious marks but does not run true. Another with the low-profile tires now days is the tires and/or rims can be "snakebit" in potholes. Especially if air pressure is low.
A scenario for a shop has to do with the low-profile tires also. It is my take they do not mount and dismount so easy as the older style. Would not be the first time an employee damaged a wheel on one of the tire changing machines.
Guess it could be someone trying to pad profits with the sale of new tires and new wheels.
A question. Why did you decide new tires were needed?
I decided to follow the thread to see how it plays out. Many years ago I had the front steering off my 1978 E-150 van so as to get the kingpins replaced. The new pin bushings have to be drilled to fit the new pins. The guy made the holes too large. Owner would not make it right. Tried to tell me the grease would take up the space. Had to get it done at a different shop. Some shops are honest. Some are not.
