I've been goated into street races before and I've been lucky there were never any cops nearby. I know if I keep doing i will get caught, so my racing will be done at the track from here on out!

Disabled Vet and driving a Mustang while getting pulled by a Ford guy. Yea, don't waste your time on the lottery. It was the planets all aligned correctly!
And yes, thank for your service!

Just yesterday I was driving in to work at 6:50am. I was cruising down I-20 with the needle dead on 70 in a 60. Granted, I think it reads a few MPH fast. But I take note than no one is tailgating me, passing me or no one in front of me. Hmmm, a pleasant drive it! 400-500 yards further I notice the State Trooper behind me to my right. Screw it, held my speed and kept heading to work.
Next exit, he took it to get on I-77.
All hell broke loose then! It looked like the pace car pulled into the pit row at Indy. I stuck to 70 and I was getting passed like I had pulled to the side and stopped.
I traveled that area a good bit when my sister lived in Charleston. Don't know how anyone can do 60mph there without getting ran over lol.

I never race, it does nothing for me and it's not worth it like the cop said. But I do enjoy spirited driving.

Few years back I was out crusing on my harley when a light went green and I got on it. I always wore a helmet but this time was a full face. Well my dumb ass didn't see the cop right behind me. I immediately pulled over after seeing the lights. By the time I got my helmet off I see not one, but three cop cars parked behind me. One approached with one hand on his firearm and the other on his walky. I told him exactly what I was out doing and somehow got off with a warning. Think that was the last time I wore that helmet. He must of thought I was running from something being directly behind me while I gunned it.

Some cops are cool and get it some just love laying down the law. I really appreciate the first kind! Not all of us are out looking for trouble

Any other person would had got a reckless driving ticket plus a 30-60 license suspension. At least in NJ.
Depends on how the situation is handled by the DRIVER who was pulled over for cause... The Police have to have just cause to initiate a stop, and 95% of the time drivers know exactly why they were pulled over...

But... they play stupid...

Most don't realize, if you're just honest with the Officer and apologize, it's goes a lot further than (as some do) blatantly lie as to the infraction.

If you were doing 75 in a 55, just say so and apologize. If you're driving record is clean or doesn't have anything major, your registration is up to date and insurance is in check - usually the Officer will let you go with a warning OR a non-moving citation that won't jack your insurance rates or penalize your DMV record.

Yes, it does happen.:)

You must not get pulled over a lot. I skidded my tires to avoid a hidden one way road down the shore, and the cop thought I was drunk (2 am coming from a bar who wouldn't) and I got a careless driving ticket. This is after 16 years without a ticket.

If you are caught racing down a street with the potential of killing yourself or someone else, "my bad" is not going to cut it.

And no, I did not drink that night. The cop said he was cutting me a break because he could had also gave me a "did not use turn signal" as I turned right to avoid the one way street. Gee - what a swell guy. Could of had 4 points from a stupid mistake, and could only imagine doing something blatantly reckless like racing. NJ shore is not even worth driving too anymore but that is just my rant and rave. I believe it is more on the township/state than the driver to be honest. Some towns don't tolerate jack and shit and are just looking for a reason to pull you over.

Well I'm a vet and it didn't help me. Two plainclothes cops followed me (tailgating) for about 20 miles. If I slowed down they did to. Eventually I sped up (as I was starting to get nervous) and instant bust. Got it all on dashcam. Went to court and they got handed a walloping from the judge (me too for going over the limit). Warning for me no points and no cost. If I had not had the cam big problem. Not all cops are like that tho.

Just don't do it, there's always a car faster than you, no matter what you drive.
