Tension arm. The ball joint is bad on it, won't be able to tell until you pop the ball joint loose. I went with this one from Rock Auto (they are side specific, FYI)

Mine were low mile (30k or so) but I had a shop install shocks/struts/springs and it was immediate that the sound started. I am guessing for whatever reason they removed the ball joint from the spindle and beat the shit out of it with a hammer causing the problem.
For what it is worth, I...
If it were me I would do a LS instead. Stock 5.3 is going to be good running and around the HP level you want. Then more power is only a cam, heads and intake away.
All parts from my 2016 GT that I recently sold. All parts are pickup in Morgantown, WV or meet up in a reasonably close distance. I will ship injectors if someone wants them. All parts make an offer.
stock injectors
stock intake manifold
stock intake
stock springs
stock engine cover
brand new...
As title says, sold car and these need to go. I used the control arms for about 5k miles, bumpsteer ends were never installed, so brand new. All in great shape. Looking for 300 shipped or local pickup/meet in Morgantown, WV.
Kind of like EV's with zero emissions but no one wants to admit the electric used to charge them comes from mostly coal fired power plants. There are tradeoffs to everything and the whole zero emissions argument is decades away from being realistic.
I run the Z26 front and rear with dimpled and slotted rotors. Braking on the street feels no different than the stock pads/rotors. I got my rotors from rotorpro.net, been using him for years on many cars. Can't beat the pricing and customer service.
Nice call on the Motul DCTF, that is what I plan on using in mine when I get around to it. Big fan of their fluids. I also do Ceratec on mine once a year (normally 2 oil changes a year) seems to quiet it down a good bit.
I tried the Whiteline transmission bushing. It will definitely firm up...

That is the kit I was talking about, maybe some of that will help. If I ever do a return style, this is the kit I would run. I like the idea of this setup.
