we have a 4.6 bore space SBC that sees 75-82 psi… the motor has made 4000 to the hubs with twin 98s on Fueltech hub dyno…car runs 3.76 on a 275 tire… compression is in the 12-13:1 range…

there is no set answer to this question.. its a matter of trial and error.. testing and way more testing… no 2 motors will ever be the same..

and Also Sonny died last year…

You guys should really drop the compression to 9:1 for a cooler running engine. That will allow you to turn up the boost!

lmao

Again that is an all out race engine.

Who said lower compression is better in every case? I’ve said quite the opposite actually. It’s another straw man argument….

I love how certain members on this forum try to force people to run E85 even when there’s a safe way to run 93 😂 Not everyone desires the lower fuel efficiency and limited availability of E85 stations, which can lead to lower mileage and inconvenience not to mention the wear that Ethanol may have on injectors/pumps…

according to some.. low compression, high boost
well then damn son.. run a 4:1 Cr and 60 psi.
wait.. there's already 11:1 running @ 30 psi, so
run 4:1 @ 70 psi. Gotta keep up with the Jones.

I need to lower my CR to 1:1 @100 PSI because I might as well go as low as possible while I’m at it.
I wonder why Ford made a 9.5 alluminator motor for boosted applications and a 12:1 for N.A. I guess it’s for warranty purposes 🤷‍♂️

Everyone has a different situation. What makes sense for one, may not accommodate another. The correct solution is the solution that fits you.

Example. 93 won't cut it for me. E85 everywhere here.

Not sure about today but in the unlimited top fuel days most were running 7 to 1 compression. The extra chamber volume allowed more air and fuel thus making more power.

Currently 6.5:1 or so. Don’t forget about the possibilities of hydrolocking nitromethane motors.
