Looking for recommendations on a shift knob. Lightweight? Weighted? Shapes? Currently running a mgw xspec standard (second to the shortest throw they offer so it's super short). I wouldn't mind a slightly taller shift knob so my wrist isn't bending down as much. What's some good comoanies to order from?
And post some pictures of what you've all got. I'm thinking a rounder shape would suit me just for comfort so maybe a tall teardrop or something but I've never used anything other than the stock ball. Leather wrapped knob? Weighted? Let me hear from all of you with much more experience banging gears and finding what works.

Tall Teardrop from Billetworkz on my MGW shifter. Very heavy but makes shifting like butter :)

IMHO heavier knobs will help it shift a little smoother on a short shifter.

Decide if you're ok with an adapter for reverse or if you want a knob that works with the factory reverse lockout. Personally, I don't like having to install an adapter.

I like the look and feel of the OEM GT350 shifter. It's easy to wrap with different colors of Alcantara or leather to suit your preference. The white Raceng was cool too.

My reverse is push down and into first. It's an mgw shifter I already cut the boot and removed the reverse collar

MGW has different length arms they can provide at very reasonable costs but they may not be listed so it couldn't hurt to call if you want a custom length. Or, there are numerous extension options to sandwich between the arm and shift knob or extended knobs for a longer throw. My old bones didn't like the extra-short throw on my Gen2 MGW TR3160 shifter so I got a one inch longer arm plus a short extension collar under a weighted ball and those simple mods completely transformed the "feel" to the best shifting manual transmission I've ever experienced.

I got this one from autozone. I didn't know about the ford performance one. It is loose because of being a standard.

We have the following options that are a solid upgrade:

Let me know if I can help asisst or if you have any questions!

I do have a question, I'm looking at maybe one of the bullet works knobs but I cant find the one I want on your site and when I look at the others I don't see anything specified but if I go to billetworks own site they say I need reverse lockout adapters and all this extra stuff. The knobs on steeds don't say that. So do I need extra stuff if I have an mgw (no pull up collar for reverse, my reverse is push down not pull up). Or do I need a reverse collar/lockout/whatever they call it?

At the moment I'm pretty sure I'll go with a blue tall teardrop from billetworks. Instead of black because I want some blue accents in my black car. Any suggestions on the font? Thinking the font on the blue knob but the red font style offers a coyote in the side but I'm not sure I like the style of the coyote I might be better with a vinyl graphic if I want that. Any input?
