So last night I ordered the white Hurst ball knob from CJ Pony Parts. It was the only one I found that actually showed it was 2 1/4 inch diameter. I measured the stock knob and it was right at 2". Plus or minus a little bit. Hoping the Hurst ball will fit my needs

You won't be disappointed Dadillac, i think my Hurst shift knob is way better than the original. Let me know your thoughts. Just make sure you can secure the reverse lock out before you let the Loctite cure.

Loctite? I didn’t need any, the Bullitt knob bottoms out perfectly aligned!

On the Roush knob you have no lock nut and require loctite other wise it screws down too far and prevents you from selecting reverse. They supply loctite with the knob.

Stock knob is 142 grams. Bullitt knob is 214 grams
214g isn't bad. I didn't realize the Bullitt knob had some heft to it. Just not sure if I would like the white. I might keep that as an option at some point.

I only have the stock one to compare it to, but I think its a major improvement. I love the feel in my palm. My wife & daughter are not crazy about the white either, but I personally think its a great throwback to the muscle car era in white.

Got my Hurst shift knob today. Removed my OEM one and the Hurst ball is lighter than stock. Not a lot lighter but lighter none the less. The Hurst ball is bigger and feels much better in my palm. Installed it and will test it out tomorrow morning. Letting the threadlocker dry sufficiently. Pic will follow

Looks good.
I kind of want to go to a heavier shift knob that's bigger than the stock unit. I've been driving with a solid stainless knob in my Honda for years. Only thing, it gets hot as he** when you park it in the sun. Right now, my Mustang has one of those engineered plastic ball knobs. Love the size but the lighter weight is a little off-putting. There are only a handful of actual direct fit knobs for these cars which surprises me. Some sellers want you to use their special reverse pull up, or an ugly adapter. I went as far as modeling a ball knob in CAD with the correct counterbore, but haven't sent the file off to the machine shop to get one made. It would be cool to have unique one.

I'd suggest finding yourself a Bullitt knob, aside from being just marginally (if any) larger than the stock, it fulfills what you are looking for. I love mine!

Ironically enough I was considering switching back to a cue ball style knob. I switched from a 50th anniversary knob, which was a cue ball style, to a gt350. And while it’s very ergonomic, it’s pretty small. But I’d say my hands are average if not slightly larger so something a little bigger fits great. And I like the retro muscle car look the white ball gives. Thanks for the weights @poncho@home
