A coilover is a type of shock.
Has there ever been a ruling, or "clarification" on this issue? Or did the Mustang community just take a consevative approach to 15.8; not considering the "herien" loophole and the 15.5.C allowance for alternate spring mounts?
Don't the Corvette guys routinely replace their leaf springs with coilover setups? That is changing at least the upper spring mount.
Even if we have officially been told no rear coilovers, it might be worthwhile to push for a rule change if most off the shelf performance hardware uses coilover rear shocks. Note that they changed the Watts Linkage rule after Vorslag made a public stink about it.
