Sorry, hadn't seen this but I've had two performance package EBs, one a 2015 stick and the other an 18 w the 10A. The newer car doesn't have Magneride.
Agree absolutely about avoiding mods except tires for a bit! You cannot judge anything about this car by its performance on the Pirellis...
A heads up for '18 owners: We got serious fuel starve at Crow's with nearly an eighth of a tank still showing. My '15 used to be good down to 0 miles and even beyond.
Essentially stopped is the key phrase here :) I had tested for this on the street -- the stall point was about 7 mph. I don't *think* i was going that slow, but who knows. Preceding turn was a relatively high speed sweeper, and the pivot itself was a greater than 90-degree turn into a gate 20...
That's been the only real negative so far (and it did it on only one run).
It was quite cold and sketchy outside but upshifts didn't upset the car even in slaloms.
DickR I got downshifted to first on one of my runs this weekend. Dunno if you deal w pivot cones much, but I was caught off guard (and, of course, it kinda killed the run because I couldn't find the darned paddle ....)
BoostedMike, the GT uses the same size front wheel (same offset, too) but a wider rear with a different offset.
Nothing will make a bigger difference than tires — except the seat time that gives you the confidence to use them to their full potential. Good luck!
BoostedMike, getting out there and having some fun is the priority. Do what gets you seat time.
My concern with 17s is that you could wind up with even more compromised gearing (already an issue on EB manuals) or too much sidewall flex.
On 275/35s you've got a 26.6 diameter and about 58mph in...
I got an actual stick 5.0 in Memphis a few years ago, same price as whatever "large" crapbox I'd reserved. Agent pitched it right away; apparently it had been sitting for a while with no takers.
BoostedMike, hi. It would depend on your wheel width and offset. The performance package has 9 inch wheels, and I've been running 275s and, currently, 285s with a 3mm spacer, so the 265 would fit fine.
Premium wheels, those are, what, 8 inches wide? A 265 might be a little much for the wheel...
Dick, I've been doing the same thing, trying to get more familiarity with the setup. Left alone, it's a very busy transmission, and if you try to keep the same kind of pace with manual shifts it's exhausting. In traffic I wind up shifting to second and third in very quick succession without a...
About 80% stiff in front, about 20% stiff in back.
You think dialing up the rear would reduce the squat? It hooked up soooo good but I suppose I could add a front bar if things get too sketchy.
