From an inside source-

"The Predator motor is currently making well over 800 horsepower"

That is all.
The Predator is the TT V6 from the Raptor and Ford GT? At least that's what google search of it turns up.

If it's a TT V6 in the GT500 it will be another disappointment from Ford. :tsk:

IF that happened, I'd certainly agree.

Lol, come on guys it CAN'T be a 3.5TT V6 and achieve the power target (more than hellcat).

That would literally put it as the highest specific engine output currently on sale!

Move over McLaren with your fancy 8500rpm flat plane turbo 3.8L V8 because ford just beat you and put it in a $70,000 car. Nope.

Not to mention that the TT V6 is said to make "over 600HP" in the Ford GT supercar. No way they'd turn around and suddenly unveil that same motor making 200HP more in a car that costs $350K LESS.

I wouldnt be suprised if Ford unearths some drawdropping numbers. They are capable of doing it. The last gt500 with 662 hp and no gas guzzler fee.... hell just let me pay you the $1500 and give me the 800+ HP. Please, take my money.
If they are talking 800 hp+, they weren't trying to get that out of a supercharged 5.2, it definitely would be a TT.

5.2 superchardged would be pushing the envelope for 800+ HP, but with turbos it would be sitting in a sweet spot. ;)
Who knows mybe they break out the big 6.2 and get it supercharged.

I don't doubt the motor is capable of making a crazy amount of horsepower, but that doesn't mean it'll all make it to the final production model.

The dyno-breaking amount alludes to a twin turbo V8 though (however/wherever the turbos are paired).

It's no secret nearly everyone in the media correlates a TTv8 setup. Supercharging is old news... Twin-charging and ecoboosting is new news.

I say 5.4-5.8L displacement and yes, 140-150hp/liter.

Good for them...

"The report reveals plans for the majority of FCA's brands, but the most interesting bit of information is an all-wheel-drive model for the Dodge Challenger, which is being referred to as the GT AWD. Mopar unveiled the Challenger GT AWD Concept at SEMA last year as aconcept, but it looks like the idea stuck. The vehicle is set to make its debut this fall and will lead the way for a wide-body, Hellcat-powered version that will be released in 2017. That model will be called the Challenger ADR. The entire Challenger lineup will be redesigned in 2018, which includes switching over to the lighter Giorgio platform - the same one that underpins the Alfa Romeo Guilia"

To be clear, those are two different products. The AWD Challenger will be V6 powered. The Challenger ADR will have a widebody kit for bigger rear wheels but it'll be RWD.

Some people are hoping that there will be an AWD Hellcat variant based on the upcoming Grand Cherokee Hellcat but that's pure speculation.

...and here comes Dodge. I believe (not thePill) that the Hellcat and it's engine has always been Fords real concern.

I'm afraid AWD might be required to manage 800hp in an S550. That was why Ford reinforced the structure Day 1.

Remember the 2005-2006 Mistang GT's? They were under 3500lbs... In 2007, and with some Convertible complaints, to ready the structure for the 5.4 and 500hp, the Mustang's weight went up to 3560-3580lbs.

Changes in th structure happened again in 2011 when the 5.4 lost 102lbs by going Aluminum. But... they just increased the size of the brakes, wheel/tire. It got expensive to make those changes...

The S550 can support a Convertible, GT350 Performance and Pro Motorsports. I bet it can support AWD as well. A long overhang is good, it leaves room for heat exchangers and AWD systems of you can get the Coyote back far enough. Which has been accomplished...

Been saying it for a while.... AWD DCT GTR killer....although I originally said V6.... I think a lot of people would be disappointed just because of nostalgia - but I think it would be interesting. Even better though, would be an AWD, DCT TTV8 Mustang making 800hp.

Not just for nostalgia.

For more power, more potential power, and killer quad-pipe audio.

A TTV8, DCT with AWD from Ford wouldn't just compete with whoever. They'd have to reinstate the "Terminator" code name for it.
