I wonder if Whipple will be the supercharger on the new GT500?
That would be pretty awesome.

If it's supercharged, it's hard to beat Whipple.
But seriously hoping its twin turbos.
Yeah,...I'm thinking Whipple will be the supercharger, which would be killer.
I'm complete opposite though, I don't want twins, unless it's a V8 twin turbo. No Ecoboom for me please. lol :D

Bad!

Bad!

Here is your hat and there is your corner!

Lol. Joking.

Agreed on the v8 twin turbo.

No one wants a 6 banger regardless of turbos.

Why? Because your have a superior engine with 8 cylinders and twin turbos.

This entire poll started off with Skewed choices. Like voting for a political leader in Russia, Iran, or China.

You have choice A which is the "accepted choice" or choice B which is like choice A except you may die later.

If there can be an AWD TT 6, there can be an AWD TT 8. And guess which one Mustang fans want? and which one would be most attractive to potential fans.

This is the halo car for crying out loud.

Agree - it's immediately obvious that a V8 is at least 33% better than a V6, right?

I would like to stay away from factory turbos, I like to mod too much especially on a car like that. I just don't trust turbos I've never had a good experience.

From an inside source-

"The Predator motor is currently making well over 800 horsepower"

That is all.
Can you ask your inside source what the basic engine architecture is? I'd love to find out if it's turbo vs supercharged. (Or if this is widely known here on the forums, someone please enlighten me.)

Also, while I'm sure we'd all love to have an 800HP car, remember that the Hellcat team had that motor making 800HP too, but they had to detune it to meet emissions targets. So even if the 800HP number is real, it doesn't mean we can rely on it to make it all the way to production.

I'll ask, but I don't know how much more information I'm comfortable divulging. And when I say 'well over', that means 'holy shit, new dynos had to be installed'

That's encouraging & exciting but I'm not going to hold my breath. Besides the prior example of the Hellcat I cited, there's also the issue that the entire powertrain has to hold up. So they might have to back off to avoid breaking parts downstream of the engine.

So when it's eventually revealed if it's north of 800 I'll rejoice, but if it ends up being (let's say) 740 I won't be disappointed at all.

thePill has also heard "the Predator makes over 800hp" but not "well over"...

Maybe if you remove the emissions factor and Gas Guzzler Tax as a concern. I'm afraid 150hp per Liter is where the Predator passed emissions, required a tax lower than $2600 and over 800hp.

thePill says it will be 808hp and 662tq.

The closer we get to Los Angeles, the more realistic thePill sounds.

No Flat Plane Crank, No Supercharger, No Parallel Twin Turbo. It will use a Hot V design, either a Sequential like they already use or a Hot V BiTurbo.

The only thing that could go south is torque management. Might need special internals for the transmission but that is the only limiting factor right now... and traction. Can the S550 support 800hp?

Remember when Ford included the Convertible reinforcement in the structure that made any weight loss impossible?

One thing is for sure, it makes a zl1 obsolete...
