6GR street wheels for me as well. Now MPSS or PS4S... are the 4S tires worth the extra $400 on street??

In another thread, it was said that MPSS are on sale right now. I looked at tire rack and they were about a grand for a set. I almost bought a set, but I have two sets of Conti Force Contacts in the garage. One of which is already mou Ted to the 6gr's.

If I didn't have those tires laying around, if be all over the MPSS

Bummer, sorry to hear....

People laugh, but one of the first things I did was swap out my CF to 6gr r spec. I'll save the CF for the track.
But the 6GR wheels have worse clearance.

Will you notice the difference? Maybe not..... I just like having the latest technology - is it worth it over the PSS? Ehhh..... The PSS is a great tire so I'd say maybe not. It's going to sound silly but I also wanted the felt lettering, lol.

I think it has more to do with the tires than anything else. They throw rocks up into the car and they bounce back into the barrel.

Switched tires - PS4S - good to go :) I prefer the CF wheels on the car - part of the package for me. I never leave the car anywhere so theft isn't much of a concern. I'm pretty good at not scrubbing curbs...if they ever start looking crappy, I'll get them scuffed and painted.
Agree...get different tires. Only time my CF wheels are coming off: blown tire and tire swaps..
How do you like the PS4S?

Yes they do. At this point I really don't care about the 6gr wheels. ;)

By the way, I took your tip and included a set of rock guards in my ZL1 order (tow hook, splitter washers, and rock guards).

When you install the rock guards, of the 3 plastic push pins that you put back in, you may have to tap one or two of them in with something heavier or gently with a rubber mallet just to get it to fully engage again. At least I did on mine, but very happy with them.

So since I came form an F80 M3 I remembered something like this over on that forum. Sure enough, tons of people over there that have the CCB brake package have similar very tight caliper to barrel issue and are getting tons of scrapes on the barrel of their wheels. Thing is, some of them are getting taken care of by BMW with new wheels.

where's the damage? I see a scratch along protective ceramic coating of the the barrel. CF hasn't even been touched.

Yes, that scratch goes through the protective coating in some plaves and chipped it away in others. Mainly cosmetic for now yes, but the car has 450 miles on it. what will a few more rocks do? I don't think I want my wheels all gouged and chipped up, even if its on the coating. Plus this put a gouge in the bottom of the caliper also. I don't think the caliper and the barrel of the wheel were designed to serve as a rock grinder/crusher. Another time this happened I heard a quick grind then loud pop, so that must have been a bigger rock that broke once it was lodged.
