Hey guys. Ten years of driving, never touched a curb, 4 weeks into owning a GT350 and I smash a curb while turning at a light. One of those huge curbs on both sides of the train tracks in the middle of expressways. I thought I made a wide enough turn, but I was mistaken. I'm in South Bay, CA, can anyone recommend where I go to get it fixed/inspected? Could this even be fixed? I hope I don't have to end up getting a new set of rear tires, or new wheels. I hope at least the wheel can be fixed. Thanks for any advice in advance.

The tire will be fine. Looks like the bead flange did as best it could to protect the rim. I'd superglue the damaged portion of the flange back in place and file/sand off the burrs on the wheel and hit it with touch up paint. No one will notice the damage unless they know where to look.

Sucks man. At least they were R wheels at 4k a piece. I'd do as Dr. JL suggests. Alternatively replace just that wheel.

I'm in a similar boat. Happened last Friday. I have a mobile repair coming to my house today to repair the wheel. My main concern in the color match...but for 125 bucks we will see how it looks. If it looks bad and i cant stand it ill shell out 700 for new wheels or maybe just run the ugly wheel until winter then convince my wife I need a set of Signature Wheels.

This sort of thing terrifies me lol. I honestly don’t do much town driving. Just back roads and when I take the wife to dinner. Avoid curbs and barriers like a plague lol

Well I am in the same boat with a curbed wheel but it's my own dumb fault. I was in a tight Parking lot, and in that case I'll always choose to park next to a curb instead of another car to prevent potential door dings. I got as close as possible to the curb backing in...then when I pulled out I cut the wheel too early and got the back wheel. I'm too used to driving the Raptor I suppose .

Hey, thanks for your reply. So you're saying the wheel repair should cost around $125?

Go for rim repair. It's cheap and gets the job done.
I would replace the tire.

How much tread do you have on the other tire? If it's pretty much new I would just throw a new tire on it for piece of mind.

Wheel repair is fairly inexpensive.

I have 2700 miles. I have a friend that's willing to sell me two brand new rear PSS tires for very cheap, so I'll just go that route if need be, but hopefully I can take it to a shop and have it looked at by a pro to determine if a replacement is really necessary. As for the wheel, I'm hoping to get it repaired. Calling a few local places but nobody that's open is picking up yet. Going to keep trying

Yes..its a mobile repair...i would assume that there are repair shops similar local to you. This guy works out of a box truck...he said he had the color to match the black. I left the wheel outside my house today, and he will com work on it and see what he can do. I created a thread a few days before you. I'll update your with photos of mine when its done.

I did the same thing. A 2.5" hunk of the rim protector rubber was gone and curb rash on my rim. The mobile guy fixed it, but the gloss wasn't quite right. Still looked better than a sharpie! I tracked the car afterwards as well with the tire "damaged". No problems.

I'm not car savvy at all (electronics engineer haha) but isn't the wall damage the worst? or is it the other way around?
