Yep, fuel costs are rising. Just put over fifty bucks of diesel in the truck and it still had a quarter of a tank. The 500, while a gas hog, can't compete with the truck's larger tank in terms of total charges though. :-)
Sadly I averaged more than that in my F150 (36 gallon tank) while prices were low. Now that prices are high, it’s gonna bring me back to $100 fill ups regularly.

Take this political shit where it belongs. Literally fucking anywhere else.
Take your whining where it belongs. It’s a forum, conversation wanders, get over yourself.

This is exactly what gets threads shut down. Scroll down in the main forum and there are forums to discuss politics all you want.

Anyone who knows me here in this forum knows that I don't often take part of political crap. My comment was not meant to be political, just my factual opinion about fuel pricing.

None the less, I edited my comment for the sensitive, and I’ll just leave it at that.

And the fuel police have arrived everyone. Thanks for the chastising.
The car should not say zero miles to empty if you can drive another 32 miles and still have 1.3 gallons in the the tank. My car life time average is 11 miles per gallon so I had roughly 4 gallons to empty which according to modern math is 1/4 a tank not 1/8 so something is out of whack even if you think it's not.

Causes damage to the car. Really??? You really believe that Ford is going to design an engine that will be damaged for running it when it has less than 2-3 gallons of gas in the tank. Please post a link to this information so you can educate everyone with your wisdom specific to this car please not a 30 year old article you read in road and track ages ago.

There are so many safety systems in the car to prevent you from destroying the engine by driving it well below it's limits. Doing 83 mph down the highway is no where near going to destroy this engine even if you run it dry. It is no where near it's limit to destroy itself for lack of fuel.

You get a COME ON MAN for that one.

Have a great rest of your weekend and make sure your fuel gauge is always on full.
Damn! Sorry they gave you the business. Its the reason I don't come on here much anymore. I learned to not share my experiences anymore or ask questions. It's always the same characters who chime in as such. I call them the "Get off your phone, but stay off my lawn" crowd.

Cracks me up. The miles to empty is based on your driving habits over the last tank or so vs how much is left in the tank. There is a reserve amount in every tank that is not taken into consideration.

No different then when I drive my F350 6.7. I get about 18mpg.. when. I hook up to my 5th wheel and get 12mpg. It takes time for the distance to empty to read properly.

Once it shows my MTE from Towing and I disconnect and fill back up, it still shows based on towing and takes time to adjust.

No different then a performance motor, how you drive last tank can effect what it shows this tank etc.

I bought a passat TDI for my commuter car. Wanted to see how far I could go on a tank. Once I hit 0 MTE, I drove an extra 42 to a total of 707 miles on one tank. Filled up and still had .9 gallons left.

Nothing wrong.

I would tend to agree except I was three tanks in since my track day on the day of that pick. The indicated avg. for the previous tank and that current tank was 15.5 mpg. You would have thought it corrected to most recent tanks of gas but it appears it had not.

At 4.4 mpg from the track day (which I ran almost 4 tanks worth of gas) zero miles to empty (ZME) at 1/8 of a tank makes sense so obliviously 3 tanks of gas are not enough to sway the ZME dummy light.

Damn, had to put the large Cowboy shit kickers on to wade through this thread... LMAO!:crackup:

So curious, do any of you venture beyond this little GT500 nook of the forum?

Most likely the OP might need to adjust the AFE Bias calibration of the cluster. It's been discussed on here elsewhere as others have found that the S550 MPG readings are not accurate or in some instances not being calculated correctly in both the Analog and Digital clusters. One can confirm this if they did the old fashioned MPG pencil to paper (or Excel sheet) math.

--
To adjust the AFE Bias, you first need to access Engineering Mode; the below links demo how to access EM.

If you have a 2015-2020 with the ANALOG gauge cluster, you should be able to enter the “Engineer Test Mode”.

Follow this link:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/engineering-test-mode.27581/

If you you have a 2018-2020 with the DIGITAL cluster, you should be able to access the same test mode found here:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...n-18-digital-dash-old-way-doesnt-work.115231/

For those that also don't know, Engineering Mode also has the ability to get any stored DTC's...

Now back to our program....

To understand how to adjust the AFE Bias once in Engineering mode, go to this informational thread (starts off with Analog cluster):
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/how-to-adjust-your-indicated-average-fuel-economy.48903/

To do the same AFE Bias adj. in the Digital Cluster, hit this portion of the thread:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...dash-old-way-doesnt-work.115231/#post-2425775

Additional thread regarding the AFE Bias:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/mpg-display-correction-adjustment-afe-bias.99044/

Hope that helps the OP.

Cheers! 👍
