Xpipe + Roush axle back owner here....its loud above 3500rpms, but not annoying at cruising speeds. I had the h-pipe first and to me it was louder than the x-pipe.
Really I thought the X pipe would be louder. How did the sounds compare? You like the X much better?

I agree %100 with snd93, I have the same set up FRXPipe with the Roush. I'm SC'ed don't know if he is or not. Just cruising around not bad at all, get on it though and you will hear it. Even though it's not horrible in the car.

I'm going to describe it the best way I know how...
The H-Pipe with Roush axlebacks had a blatty sound. It reminded me of a straight piped redneck's truck. No offense to anyone, I'm a redeneck, I just own a mustang.
The x-pipe with Roush axlebacks has more of a true racecar sound and not nearly annoying as the h-pipe. Hands down the x-pipe is my choice. I'd never go back to an h-pipe.

I have a few clips with my current set-up. X-pipe w/Roush axlebacks

This was a 6000rpm rev (by mistake, LC was off)

This was a 3800rpm launch (testing wheel hop issues)

I'm hoping to be SC'd by spring/summer. But yes, you are correct. Loud when you want it to be, quite when you don't.

snd 93 you'll really like the sound once you SC!!! You'll get a very distinct crackle and pop out of it on down shifts!

Would a custom H pipe sound any different than a mrt or lethal resonator delete?
Highly doubt it. I just ordered the Lethal Performance H-pipe. I wanted some more sound when getting on it, but still pretty quiet while cruising. This is just the H-pipe with the stock mufflers.

I've always heard that the H-pipe is more deep and throaty sounding, whereas the X-pipe is more raspy sounding. Your video certainly does have that raspy sound.

As far as the popping sound, do you sc'd guys notice that there's less and less popping over time? Just curious. I'm sc'd as well and loved all the popping from my Roush axle-backs when I had them, but over time, the popping became pretty rare.

Yeah, it's raspy. I hope it gets more raspy when I install long tubes.

This has to be my most favorite sounding exhaust so far. Carloasa Garcia's
