Got my first ticket last yr for almost triple digits in a 55. Was reckless driving but lawyer got it dismissed today somehow lol. All that stressing and community service for nothing. And yes I have learned my lesson, just glad it's all over

Maybe next time you'll hit a deer crossing that deserted road and...
I assume your response was to OP, not me, since it makes 0% sense in the context of my post.

Non-Citizens should not be able to get a driver's license.
what chaps my ass, aside from the quoted text is that in VA the DMV will land on yur ass like a ton of bricks if you don't have ins coverage (eg. suspend your license) if their database query says you cancelled coverage on a car that you sold, but DMV doesn't know you sold it.

So it is IMPOSSIBLE for the DMV NOT to know the current (within a week) of anyone holding a DL who doesn't have insurance on any of their registered vehicles. And bench warrants should be issued. This whole illegal or otherwise running around with no ins has no reason to ever occur except at the margins. Bench warrants should be issued in a blizzard and people jailed. It would give FFX county cops something USEFUL to do with their time.

I'm not going to get on a Soap Box and preach politics, but yes I agree with you. My 86 year old mother got rear ended by a woman with no license and no insurance. My agent told me these are the number one factors for our insurances rates like they are here in San Angelo Texas. I'll just say where I'm from. I have nothing to hide. Yeah, it's getting worse too. That's the number one problem here, no license, no insurance and no speak English. Just have to tell like it is. Failure to Yield and running Stop signs. It's TOO easy to get a driver's license in this country. It should be mandatory to go to driving school. Speeding? LOL That's nothing. Reading signs and knowing what they mean? That's more important and know the Right Of Way. Go to school and learn how to drive in the first place. Speeding on highways is just that. Okay, that's the end of my Soap Box from this old man.

We have too much automatic bs on cars. Now they want driverless cars. Teach people how to drive. Increase the amount of a license and put people in driving schools. A soldier who was stationed in Germany told me a license there is 1500 dollars. I don't know if that is true. They teach people how to drive he said. Well, I don't know about 1500 dollars but we do need driving classes and refreshers to get renewed.

Yup. Laws are only laws if a person abides by them. They keep honest people honest, but people willing to bend or break them, only make it harder for the law abiding citizen to get a fair shake. Just like gun laws.....

Same thing with buying land/property. Any idea how much farm land, commercial, residential property is owned by foreign nationals? It aint 0.

If you are a law abiding citizen, then you have all sorts of B.S. to conform to, but if you aren't, then help yourself to free healthcare, legal representation, housing assistance, etc. etc. etc. I'm going to stop now, as Im likely inching closer to a ban on the forum.

In japan it was around $2000 (back in the 80's) and took a month or two to get thru the classes - I think it was at least 12 hrs of guided in-car instruction before you were permitted to hold a license and was provisional at that. Another 3 months before you could graduate to un-escorted. Or something along those lines.

I took driver's ed run out of a local HS here in USA (Delaware I think) in 1989 and it was 2 full-weeks (10 days morn or afternoon session) during the summer. It was mostly kids but we had some adults too.

Well, I'm not saying it has to be all that here, but we do need to teach people. Failure to give Right Of Way, not knowing how to Yield, are the huge factors here in wrecks. I'm just saying here in Texas because I have first hand experience here. Passing me on highway doing 100? I have Oil Company pickups doing that all day long. LOL Failure to give Right Of Way? Totals my car and pisses me off. LOL We need to set better priorities.

Okay, this guy has a death wish.
True, but I don't care if he scatters himself all over the highway, as long as he doesn't hurt anyone else. going 90 MPH at 1 am on an empty highway like OP, meh. Doing what this asshat did during rush hour, hitting 179 MPH multiple times... I wish a 18 wheeler would have made a "failure to signal lane change". That would have been a much more interesting video
