Got my first ticket last yr for almost triple digits in a 55. Was reckless driving but lawyer got it dismissed today somehow lol. All that stressing and community service for nothing. And yes I have learned my lesson, just glad it's all over

Or don't drive like an idiot and put yourself and others at risk.
In my defense it was 1 am and all lanes of the highway were empty. But VA speed limits are just so low

I heard the penalty for speeding in VA is Death

I never get why we get in trouble for speeding on empty roads when no ones around

Sorry I didn't know the speed limits aren't to your liking and nobody was on the road. (except the police) A perfectly good defense, carry on.

Because the posted speed limits aren’t based on traffic flow or time of day. It’s really pretty simple to understand.

Hopefully not for nothing. Going twice the speed limit is excessive, no matter the time of day. You never truly know if the road is empty, could be someone around a curve or farther ahead than you can see, especially at night. At those speeds, you could come up on someone real quick and may not be able to react accordingly (or overreact and cause an issue that way).

To be fair, should be situational, since if no ones around at 1am, why is it as bad as if it were rush hour

Its not like he had a 5th of Vodka and did burnouts, donuts and wheelies before speeding down a school road in a neighborhood where kids walk too and from just as school got out, looking to rack up points

Great idea, the speed you go should be based on the honor system. Each driver gets to determine how fast they can go based on their surroundings and time of day. Seems perfectly reasonable.

In my 28 years of mustang ownership I’ve never gotten a ticket in one. I have managed to get at least one ticket in almost every truck I have owned. I guess I’m more careful in the mustangs as I really don’t want to end up on a YouTube video as part of the stereotype.

Not saying go 150 in a residential at 3am, but lets be honest, big open highway with not a soul in sight?
Dont tell me you with your Shelby wouldnt be tempted to speed

If no one were around you wouldn’t be getting a ticket.
