I know this has been covered, but I can't find it; I apologise
Are the recaro seats heated? Are they restrictive for getting in and out of the car? Are they worth the price if you don't do track type driving?

Nope (nor are they cooled or powered), no idea, probably not (after having sat in the premium seats, which are very comfortable and have plenty of bolstering... pretty sure most will agree with me)

Not heated.

I quite like the seats. I fit well in them, they are not challenging for me to get in and out of and the bolsters are pretty incredible, but that's just my opinion. The standard seats are pretty great as well.

I would recommend sitting in a couple of cars once they are in dealers!

many of those of us on the boards who have sat in the premium seats, (including myself) feel the recaros are unnecessary unless you are planning serious track driving. the bolstering in the standard seats is significantly improved vs the S197 generation models.

Also recaros have no heat, cooling, or power operation.

My opinion based on my needs is they are not worth the price unless you are planning on tracking on a regular basis.

I'm fine without the heated and cooling feature... but dammit... those darn blank filler buttons on the IP do annoy me. I hate placeholder buttons.

Thanks guys. I was beginning to regret not ordering recaros, but now I am OK with my order being with regular seats. Also, I prefer the color choices of the regular leather seats---I chose Dark Saddle

That's the only reason I didn't order premium Recaro seats, the fact that they aren't cooled or heated. I was originally going to get cloth but didn't like the base features. Changed my order to premium, I think I'll be happy with cooled seats. I'm sure you make the right decision but check out a few reviews and they all day Recaros are waste of money as the OEM seats hug you just fine.

Waste of money might not be the best way to describe it, and it's a far cry from the large support in favor of the Recaros from driving impressions we've read so far.

It's been discussed a couple of times: get what suits you the most. We're all different in frame and weight. I'm sure bigger/heftier guys will be more suited to the standard seats as is. You don't need to have a monthly track session to jusitify the Recaros. If there was a more aggressive option than the Recaros, I'd probably even opt for that instead. I just like the feeling of aggressive bolsters, be that measured in size or stiffness. I'm sure others feel the same way.

If you go Premium, as most of us have, with the Recaros you get a choice of black leather, or black leather with red stitching. No cooling. No heating. No power. Where I live we had 45 days this summer over 100 degrees. And it will get down to 15 this winter. Black leather? No heating or ventilation? Not a good idea.

Not having sat in the new seats, I ordered Recaro's. When I install my 6 point the seats already have the harness slots. If I could have ordered my car without a radio I would have. Plus with cloth seats they don't get slippery when wet. I sweat like a pig, driving suits are hot. I think if you are honest with yourself you order a car equipped with how you will use it, not how you want people to think you use it. If you buy this car as your 'car' and not as a toy as some of us are you need to live with it. If I wanted this as a DD I sure as hell wouldn't be giving up the heated/cooled seats after paying a $5K premium for a premium.

Sat in a Boss 302 and loved the Recaros. I will have to sit in a "base" seat and then find a car with Recaros to compare.

Are all Recaros the same? The dealer has a Focus with Recaros at this time, no Mustang

Are all Recaros the same? No -but go find a 2014 'Stang with them and that's what you'll get (or really close) on the 2015s as well. GREAT seats for track or auto-x work. For my personal DD? No, I'll take heat/cool/power with a lot of the folks above too.
