Got to toss an ATS-V around at a recent Cadillac dog & pony demo (FedEx field parking lot). Mini auto-x course along with some acceleration runs (CTS-V there as well - holy crap!) and some street driving. Car looks wonderful from afar BUT the seats and IP are rental grade GM at their worst...
I've driven all three and the Camaro (for me) is just awful. I'm relatively short (5'8") and it feels like I'm driving around inside a mailbox. If I could see? I'd be in a ZL1 right now, end of story. The deals available are just sick - performance steal of the century. But, bottom line is...
I was seriously thinking about the new G20 platform M340i when it hits the US in 2019. Then found out it's probably auto only (which kills the deal immediately for me) along with production scheduled to move to Mexico. Makes it very hard to do Euro Delivery that way. So ordering a '18 GT PP...
unfortunately.....I live 25 miles outside DC and have to go back to Richmond on a fairly regular basis so RD not an option for those trips. Have to rely on Waze, common sense and driving a very innocuous car (candy white GTI which is currently filthy). :frusty:
Glad you're OK. My brother-in-law does crash analysis for a living so I'm always glad to see that the bags deployed as designed! He's testified in court on a few cases where that did NOT happen.
me too actually. I had an E46 330Ci which I loved. Surgical steering, silky smooth inline six (man, I've got the alliteration mojo working this morning huh? ) and that slightly long and notchy shifter they perfected for years. Fast forward to the teutonic Buick known as the F30. 1...
Currently have a '10 GTI. APR chipped, 2 door, manual and still love my ride. However, I'm not getting any younger :frusty: and have decided that I need to make my little contribution to global warming and excessive gas consumption while I can. I've also never personally owned a V-8 RWD...
This. I've driven the new S class Merc. Damn near 5,000 lbs, boatloads of power and does 0-60 in approximately 5 seconds. You'd never know it other than 1) you mat the throttle 2) notice that you're going 100 mph VERY shortly afterwards. So smooth, so linear? Yes ;-)
I've never seen one that I could use with polarized sunglasses. Test drive on a F30 3 series last year along with driving a friend's C6? HUD was worthless to me both times. At night they'd probably be awesome for me with regular (clear) glasses. And I have AR coatings on all my glasses...
Yes. The entire point of "rev matching" is to get the engine speed the same as the transmissions rotational speed (hence the term). The clutch is there to decouple the engine from the transmission on demand. Synchros are analogous to stopping a spinning bottle by jamming the cork into the...
he generally knows his stuff and is accurate on all of his facts. He's been doing these for quite a while on YouTube. When you start getting copycats then you're doing something well ;-)
I live in the metro DC/Baltimore area. We have some of the worst traffic in the U.S. Not to mention that lovely parking lot known as I-95. Still love my GTI with a stick.
However, I'll agree with everyone else. It's YOUR money! You earned it and the decision is entirely up to you.
Here in MD, you can dial #77 and be connected to the nearest State Trooper barracks. You can verify the trooper's identity and/or report a fraudulent stop attempt.
MD State Troopers still have a ton of Crown Vics for marked and unmarked vehicles. They have gone to Tahoes too, marked and unmarked as well. Although with the LED bars up against the headliners and folded spotlights, they stick out like a sore thumb a mile away. When I lived in SC way back...
Saw an Oxford White one yesterday @ Ford's "demo" and it was really sharp. I own a white car now and am looking at other options but it would look badass with the PP.
