Well, not literally, and even though I've ordered a GT Premium, it will arrive by the end of February, which is giving me more time to consider other options.

How's the 2016-17 S550 gunna be different than this year's model? Maybe 8-speed transmission, SYNC 3, PP on Auto? Am I gunna feel like I should have waited another year?

I'm still back and forth between the Mustang and the Challenger SRT. Bottom line is, I want an american V8 (Camaro is not an option, sorry).

I know there's a price difference between the SRT and the GT, but I feel like I'm getting much more with the Chally.

For those who bought the S550, what made you go for it?

Edit : For all S550 owners, what made you go for THIS year model?

Right, but I'll be using this car as my DD and not in an Autodrome, so I don't think the weight difference will affect my daily driving. Why did you buy the S550? Did you have any Mustangs before?

Challenger is too big and hard to park and the sightlines are ATROCIOUS -- a problem for me since 90% of my drive-time is in stop-and-go traffic. Also, significantly worse real-world mileage, and older platform (20 year old Mercedes E-Class architecture...).

Ford and GM are jointly developing a 10 speed auto, but it's still several years away. Performance Pack with the auto might be there next year, but honestly the car handles phenomenally without it (just put on some better tires).

I have. This is my 9th Mustang. First one was a 1991 LX 5.0 hatchback.

This is by far my favorite so far. The car is truly a complete package.

The SRT's are nice, no doubt. Just a bit too big for my needs and wants.

My car choices came down to a 2013 BMW M3 E92 CPO with about 1500 miles or a brand new loaded 2015 GT PP.

I'll be using the car as my DD which means a minimum of 2 hours daily in stop-and-go traffic. I just don't wanna be missing much by making a purchase this year and not waiting.

BTW my order is almost identical to yours (except for the color and I'm not sure if it'll come with a spare wheel or not).

I know I'll get hate but whatever...
Get the challenger.
1. It's more comfortable for a DD, I drive my 300 to work just because its so much more practical and comfy compared to my stang.
2. It's an SRT, seen as a better car than a GT ( to the non-car person... Oooooh badges )
3. The 6.4 is a very fun enjoyable motor. You won't regret it. Trust me , I get to enjoy it every day! :)

Oh and I bought mine because I just couldn't wait after visiting the LA auto show.
If a 8-speed auto comes equipped next year.... Well time to take another loss and trade it in!

I'd easily take a Scat Pack 392 Chally just as much as a 15 Mustang. Beautiful car, just a monster of an engine, and the best automatic trans in the business especially for that massive V8. The only reasoj I ultimately went with my Stang is because I couldnt fit the Chally in my garage and I wasnt leaving it parked outside every day. The price I could have gotten with Chrysler Affiliate was 36K so price wasnt an issue at all.

Isn't the Challenger still made in Ontario Canada, therefore technically not an American V8?

Make sure you test drive a Challenger before you make a decision. They are nice cars, and look great...but holy crap it feels huge, and people aren't kidding when they slam the sightlines.

No wonder you find the 300 more comfortable, you're driving a full size sedan. I think the Challenger is different though.

It's nice to have both cars, and I'm sure you enjoy the Mustang as well.

Do you work with Chrysler? :D

No but seriously, I'm in a different region than America, so there's no Chrysler Affiliate, it's one dealer, fixed price, done. Challenger SRT 392 is $8,000 more than the Mustang GT, so as much as price isn't exactly an issue for me. I can't justify paying $8,000 more for the Challenger.

BTW I can't believe you didn't buy the Challenger just because it didn't fit in your garage. You should have bought what you waned or what makes you happy.

The 2015 Chally isn't available yet. Same with the Mustang. I did test drive the 2014 Mustang though and I thought it was really powerful, and sounded great. Knowing that the 2015 is much better (from reviews and stuff) I know I'll love it.

I'd have to say that's a pretty good solution! :D

This! I do think the Mustang is sexy looking, especially in CO and TY!

I got the mustang because it was the closest thing i could find to replace my outgoing BMW 335I. I wanted a little more speed than my old BMW, something that handles well. I wanted something more refined than the old mustangs, this is the first Mustang i would have ever even considered. What i like is the new Mustang is just as at home on a road course as it is on the drag strip. My runner up choice was a used Lexus IS-F
As far as the Challenger goes, way overweight, outdated design, Chrysler reliability & resale SUCK.

I would definitely have the Challenger. But.. only after I bought the GT first! Now if you need to put a few adults in the back that may change things a bit.
