If not why are 99% of all MAF tubes fitted with screens before and after the sensor?

I remember the MAF screens in my older Mustangs, but hadn’t seen heard of such technology in a long time. That is, until hearing about it in the Mach 1.

That is a lot denser mesh that what has been posted in this thread.

Mine always was a bit jerky at steady state-ish between 1700-2000 rpm. Especially when IAT were low. The wire mesh screen I put in cleaned that right up. Hence my instant result.

Exactly right. Not even aftermarket coyote cams will give a decent bump in horsepower.

I remember replacing my factory Mopar 440 cam with a purple shaft .509 lift 292 duration cam and that was 80hp all day, everyday, before matching the rest to it.

Now it's 1500 buckaroos for a 15hp gain.

I ran a purple shaft cam 284-.528 solid lifter in a 340 and it was a stout cam, tried a couple of other purple cams and they were lousy.

Bank 1 and 2 are all we have in the coyote.

It will show long and short term, you should also have a lbs per min channel.

I was kind of hoping it would combine bank 1 & 2 to give an overall value, as the graph function will only record four values, so I can’t capture short / long & 1 / 2, along with lb/min on the same plot.

I have now found I can split the graph though :

So I will have to see how useful that is once it starts to populate data.

And at idle, this was typical :

DA was just under 500ft.

So can someone decipher that for me (in layman’s terms lol) ?

Ignoring the calculated power value, does everything look OK, and does that give me a good baseline for testing possible future mods for improvements ?

Is there anything I can do to affect / correct that ? (Stock tune / just been serviced / I suspect it’s had a recent KAM reset - I had the battery disconnected for about an hour).

Many things can affect it. Weather / Driving habits / yada, yada. I wouldn't worry about it unless it consistently is removing fuel.

Missed this, yes I have a screen before and after the MAF. It makes the car run smoother at idle and cruise. I see no hit to WOT lbs per min.
