If you can measure more than .001 psi of restriction through that screen straightener I'll buy you a coke, or beverage of your choice.

PSI ?
Now I see why your reaction is a laughing emoji.
Put the fine mesh screen on an instrumented flow bench and see what happens at higher flow rates
This is CFM not PSI.

Ok if the percentage difference is more than .01 I'll buy you a beverage. At 50 CFM it won't even see that screen.

If it does it will be worth the cost of the beverage for me to learn something new.

I don't have access to a flow bench or I'd test it myself.
I will say I have a screen in mine with denser mesh and I get the same 45 lbs of airflow with it and without it. I get a better idle and cruise with it in. I'm using window screen.

I have access to a flow bench on a limited basis.
Testing screens might ruin a friendship…… LOL

No if it is proven to be a restriction I want to know.

If it is a restriction my car is not pulling enough air for it to show up. Cap the test at 50 CFM. If you want to test higher that would be nice to see where it does cause a restriction

Cap it at 50 CFM ? The Coyote heads will flow 300 CFM.

Sorry it's late and I'm watching the Lions.

I meant 50 Lbs per min. I don't feel like doing the math so make it 1200 CFM.

Std correction

Engineering involves compromise. Air is only valuable if you can fuel it accurately

if you just wanted a big tube to push some hot air through, a “restrictive looking” screen wouldnt be needed then would it?

Screens are not how clean laminar flow is created.
If what you have works for you that’s all that matters. Thanks for posting.
