I thought the M1 with the handling package came with Cup 2s?

I'd bet the previous owner replaced them with the PS4s.
He changed them at 4900 miles.

I changed the Cup 2s on the PP2 at 3900 miles. He got 1k more than I did lol

Yeah. I put the new tires on and had the dealer do an alignment bc it started pulling a bit left. They argued with me about warranty coverage bc I obviously did a bunch of burnouts to need new tires already. Alignments are covered in the 1st 12k miles.

Exactly my hunch but since the cars are apples to oranges, I needed some help lol

As far as handling, the Mach has the handling package with PS4's on it. The PP2 had brand new General GMAX. Not the same tire, I know, but I was very impressed with the GMAX performance.

I had the BMR lockout on the PP2 and it made world's of difference in the handling.

That being said, I can tell the Mach with it's bone-stock suspension is definitely a better handling car. I was very suprised by that bc on paper, they look equal.

That VIR hot lap--I'm not suprised by the results...
So long as the car is performing safely and you’re happy, it doesn’t matter what we all think.

True. But I needed to know if the concensus is that the car actually IS performing safely. I wasn't sure about the tune and the stock intake jiving together. Sounds like if it wasn't, it would be obvious...so that makes me feel better. The car runs great and pulls strong. Love it so far.

As an aside, thank you to everybody who took the time to reply. I appreciate it all!

@KingKona , the base Mach is not the same as a PP1. Wider wheels (same tire sizes), stiffer springs, plus Magneride and some other GT350 / GT500 suspension bits. Handling package cars have even wider wheels and stiffer springs, plus different MR tuning. Keep looking for that Mach, once you make the leap you'll be glad you did.

Coming from a 2018 GT PP1 to the Mach, the Mach definitely FEELS quicker in street driving because of the tighter gear ratios of the Tremec, although in real world 0-60 testing the numbers don't reflect that, I'm sure partly due to the extra little bit of weight from all the coolers. But if it was 0-45, or some other acceleration test that was beneficial to the Mach's gearing instead of the GT, we may see something different.

I have a Livernois flex tune and it's noticeable, feels like a big dog on a leash that you're trying to hold back from chasing a cat. Lots of guys lately singing the praises of Wengerd's flex tune as well. I agree with other posts that almost every thread you read will say there's just not much room left for improvement for a gas tune.

First, don't be slipping. Every time I compared it to a PP1 car I've added WITH MAGNERIDE.

....than a PP1 car with Magneride...
..wheels, tires and suspension as a Magneride PP1 car...
If you're going to claim that there are "stiffer springs and some other GT350/GT500 suspension bits", provide some source material to back that claim. I've looked over a few articles for the Mach 1, and none mentioned such things.

About the only thing I'm seeing different is that the wheels are 1/2" wider, while sticking to the same tire size. I would think that's because those sizes are what was available from the vendor.

I'm a fan of the Mach 1, specifically for the Tremec, but outside of that I'm not seeing any major differences from a PP2/PP1 car.

Grab forscan or a buddies SCT device and check your fuel trims. If they are in spec enjoy the car. If not go back to the dealer who sold you the car and request a reflash of the stock tune.

As far as King Know It All, just ignore him.

MACH 1 and MACH 1 HP have the same suspension components. The Handling pack cars get a different Magnaride calibration to work with the Cup 2's. The things that set the MACH apart from a PP1/PP2 car are the Tremec, the Coolers and the GT350 intake and throttle body.

I was wrong, only the front base M1 springs are stiffer than the PP1, and the HP front springs are stiffer than both.

That's very interesting. I've long thought my car needed higher spring rates. That makes perfect sense.

But what's weird is that the base M1 has softer springs in the rear than a PP1 car. That's very weird to me.

Thanks.
weight transfer for launches? Maybe ford assumed someone not buying a HP must want the Mach for the strip/street?

just a guess
