Check with Lund to see if it’s possible to connect any nGauge to the OBDII port to check and see if the car has one of their tunes in it. If that’s doable, make a post on here requesting help from someone, who lives near you, to connect their nGauge to your car and find out.
Thank you. I've been out of the local Mustang scene for a minute but I'm sure I can get in touch with some old acquaintances who have an nGauge...you've given me something to think about.

Where does the rev limiter kick in? If it's 7200, I'd assume it's stock. You won't hurt anything bumping into it....that's what it's there for and it will rev safely to 8 no problem.
This morning was the 1st time I spun it up and I shifted at the 7500 redline.
That's the correct limiter for the stock tune, 7200 is for the older generations so it doesn't mean anything in this instance.
Yes, also some very controversial advice about bumping the limiter ...

It wasn't.

Anyways, the difference is negligible. Tunes are really just turning the throttle response up, there's really not much HP & TQ left in Coyotes to get with a tune, until LTHers are installed.
I did not know this. I remember reading threads about 50whp gains and such. But I guess those were pre-18 tunes. I'm still learning...

I tried to clear up my post. I guess what I should have said was, I bought the car from a dealer and found the previous owner's information in the glovebox. Wife contacted him on FB to ask some questions, he's been very cool about it. There were some sentimental items in the car so she drove down and met him yesterday to return those items. That's when he told her about the mods...

He had an intake, cowl hood, tune, x-pipe, muffler delete. When I bought the car it was all stock visually, other than the exhaust.

I've read that some aftermarket tubes REQUIRE a tune. I've also heard about all these stories where someone takes their tuned car to a dealer for whatever reason, warranty, oil change, etc and the dealer reflashes the car while it's there.

Since the car has the factory intake on it now, I was wondering if there's a simple way to know if the tune is still there. I wasn't sure if the butt dyno would tell you or not.

The car doesn't lack power anywhere like my PP2 did...So I guess it IS still tuned? The Machs and Bullits basically have the Ford Performance tune on them from the factory right? So it's hard for me to judge.

Put me in a 6M GT and I can tell you all about it. The Mach is a completely new beast to me.

TLDR; I want to know if it's 93 tuned is it still safe with the factory intake? Should I have any warranty concerns? If I put 91 in it will it be ok? Sometimes 93 isn't always available...
It is not hard for a dealership to refresh a cars tune, the Mach 1 will be faster and feel faster than a PP2. The tremec paired with the 3.73 gears and the higher output coyote on them will make it feel pretty damn quick! I am 90% sure you do not have the tune still on the car. Also if a tune was going to cause problems with the stock airbox you wouldn't have a smooth driving car. I.E. check engine lights or poor idling! Cheers

The tunes most definitely have more hp but they loose a bit of torque. Its all the accompanying differences that mach the M1 so quick. But if you throw a M1 vs a 6M GT they will be nearly identical, maybe a 1/4 car length for the M1

Also if a tune was going to cause problems with the stock airbag you wouldn't have a smooth driving car. I.E. check engine lights or poor idling! Cheers
That makes me feel better bc it definitely doesn't have any idle or driveability issues!

You're more than likely fine! You also shouldn't be running anything other than premium in the M1 anyways! Enjoy that car!!

Nope. I'd guess 10HP max from just a tune.

No, a Mach 1 is not faster, nor will it feel faster, than a PP2.

For every HP the Mach 1 gains, it loses in TQ, so no real difference there. I highly doubt one would know which car they were in blindfolded. Or by testing, as the PP2 would be a bit lighter, so 0-60 and 1/4 performance are identical. And in C&Ds testing the PP2's acceleration numbers were actually a bit better than the Mach 1s.

Also.....dealerships don't normally refresh a car's tune.

So, if the OP still has a warranty then it is the stock tune. If the dealership was selling a car outside of warranty then they would not change it.

I like Mach 1s, in fact I've been trying to buy one. But they're not really anything special or different from other GT Mustangs.

Other than the fact that Car and Driver literally tested it on a track with the same driver and it beat the PP2 by nearly 3 seconds... You're either stupid or blind. Not sure how I would think its faster my ass...

The article you sent says the M1 came with used tires and its camber and alignment setting set to the least aggressive setting. They even said with those issues fixed it would more than likely match or beat the 350r and PP2. The article was also published before they drove it on the track... so its not up to date information. The m1 base has wider tires, better suspension, better aero, better cooling, better transmission, and it NOT the same as the PP1.

In addition, here is the actual article explaining the test for m1 and I quote "The Mach 1 proved to be durable too. We tortured the Mustang over five consecutive laps to see whether its rear end would overheat like the Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2's from a few years back. The Mach 1 never broke a sweat thanks to rear-differential, transmission, and engine oil coolers from the GT350R."
