Man, I wasn't sure how to title this thread...

I had a stock 2020 PP2 and a 2018 PP1 with the 6 speed before that.

So I'm used to the long gears...

I just traded into a used 2022 Mach 1 with the Tremec. The car has an x-pipe and muffler delete. Stock intake tube...I looked inside and did not see the hydrocarbon filter. So it was either removed, or it's a 2021 intake tube.

The previous owner told me he had an aftermarket intake tube on it with a cowl hood and a Lund 93 octane tune.

When I bought the car from the dealer, they had put the original hood and oem intake back on.

I'm trying to gage if the car still has the tune on it---I don't know if the dealer did a reflash or not. I only run 93 octane either way.

The car feels quicker than the PP2...but because of the extra hp and the gearing, I can't tell if the car was flashed back to the stock tune.

Would it be obvious? Like OMG, this car is fucking quick!!!! Or would it be subtle? I haven't driven a pre-18, Shelby, Bullit or Mach prior to this so the gearing is completely new to me.

Sorry if this sounds dumb. I'm trying to gage if 1: The tune is safe with the stock tube, and 2: Should I get it reflashed to stock for warranty purposes? It has 7K miles on it and was originally purchased in October of last year.

Can you get back in touch with the previous owner and ask for the tuning device that was used to tune the car?

The previous owner told you it does. So what is the question?

Try to get the stock/OEM tune from that person. Maybe it's on a hand-held tuner they'll sell you.

Where does the rev limiter kick in? If it's 7200, I'd assume it's stock. You won't hurt anything bumping into it....that's what it's there for and it will rev safely to 8 no problem.
This morning was the 1st time I spun it up and I shifted at the 7500 redline.

He traded the car into the dealership where I bought it from, so there's a chance they reflashed it back to stock. I've never driven a tuned car before so I'm trying to gage if it was reflashed or not. The dealer changed the hood and the intake tube back to stock...I'll update my original post...

He doesn't have it anymore. That's also part of why I was asking, I know nothing about tunes and tuning devices so I'm not sure if that's something else I need to research and buy.

I thought the car was reflashed back stock, but after the pull this morning...I just can't tell.

It wasn't.

Anyways, the difference is negligible. Tunes are really just turning the throttle response up, there's really not much HP & TQ left in Coyotes to get with a tune, until LTHers are installed.

Then ask the dealership if they flashed it back to stock.

I'll ask, but this is assuming I can get ahold of a tech who knows if it was or not.
Was it a Ford dealership?

Your first post was very confusing, it's not clear who did what mods to the car. So......if the previous owner did the muffler delete and X-pipe, and the dealership didn't put the exhaust back to stock, then there's almost no chance they did anything else other than maybe power-wash and vacuum it.

Check with Lund to see if it’s possible to connect any nGauge to the OBDII port to check and see if the car has one of their tunes in it. If that’s doable, make a post on here requesting help from someone, who lives near you, to connect their nGauge to your car and find out.

So if an inspection was done to the car by the dealership its more than likely it was switched back to stock. Especially since they went to the trouble to put the stock intake back on. Now obviously with dealerships there is always exceptions. I would just drive back to the dealership and ask them to check for you, as if your car came with any warranty it would have to be the stock tune on it for the warranty to be valid.

I tried to clear up my post. I guess what I should have said was, I bought the car from a dealer and found the previous owner's information in the glovebox. Wife contacted him on FB to ask some questions, he's been very cool about it. There were some sentimental items in the car so she drove down and met him yesterday to return those items. That's when he told her about the mods...

He had an intake, cowl hood, tune, x-pipe, muffler delete. When I bought the car it was all stock visually, other than the exhaust.

I've read that some aftermarket tubes REQUIRE a tune. I've also heard about all these stories where someone takes their tuned car to a dealer for whatever reason, warranty, oil change, etc and the dealer reflashes the car while it's there.

Since the car has the factory intake on it now, I was wondering if there's a simple way to know if the tune is still there. I wasn't sure if the butt dyno would tell you or not.

The car doesn't lack power anywhere like my PP2 did...So I guess it IS still tuned? The Machs and Bullits basically have the Ford Performance tune on them from the factory right? So it's hard for me to judge.

Put me in a 6M GT and I can tell you all about it. The Mach is a completely new beast to me.

TLDR; I want to know if it's 93 tuned is it still safe with the factory intake? Should I have any warranty concerns? If I put 91 in it will it be ok? Sometimes 93 isn't always available...
