I got pcmtec recently and was poking around my stock tune looking for what I should change to get rid of the rev hang on my 2015 GT MT82. I haven't seen anything that I felt confident about changing so far. I was looking for things related to torque request. Maybe there is a torque which can be set closer to or at 0 when throttle is at 0. Or maybe it's in the fuel maps. I'm not an experienced tuner though and have never touched fuel maps. Any insight?

To be clear: I want the engine to decelerate as much as possible when I let off the throttle regardless of vehicle speed, inferred gear, or whatever.

I'm seeing now that some of the maps have negative torque request values. I basically want negative infinity torque request though. I wonder if it's wise to mess with the torque calculation parameters.

There is a switch for it in HP tuners. I'll try to find time today and find it in PCMtec.

Subscribing... always hated a rev hang. Any ideas why the factory programming does it? Assuming emissions related?

I've read multiple times that it has to do with emissions. Side question: will eliminating the rev hang have a negative effect on our cats? If so, how much?

It is ecm 22520 in HPT but I can't find it in PCMtec.

I can't figure out how to search globally by parameter id. Assuming that 22520 id somehow comes from the pcm and isn't just made up by hp tuners. All the parameter id's in pcmtec seem to start with "auF" which look like australia ford to me. I haven't had time to do a deep dive into the software yet though. Nor have I read any documentation lol. And I'm working with a little tablet computer, so I need to connect a keyboard and mouse, otherwise I feel like I'm using the computer with my feet.

The hpt ecm and Pcmtec auf numbers are made up by the companies and don’t directly translate. In Pcmtec you just plug the auf number into the parameter search bar and it will come up. I have a sure-fire way to cross parameters over so I will in a bit.

I see.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but when you search in the navigator, it only searches group names. Then, once you're within a group, you can search the parameter id's. But I don't see how you can search across all groups.

Mike, how did you search that. I never thought to use "GSH"

The cross is not in the spread sheet I have.

Here's your answer all in one:

I see. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong with the search before, but that worked for me.

Ok so what is GSH? I'm assuming I should set this to 0. I'm about to flash my pcm for the first time and head home from work. Wish me luck! :^)

No problem...just open a stock gen2 manual file in hptuners, switch ECM 22520 to off, then save. Use an .hpt to .bin conversion app, then open the bin file in PCMTec (with upgraded features), filter by "only show parameters that are different to stock", and viola, there it is.
