I did the ceramic myself with CarPro CQ.UK 3.0. My car didn't ship by rail so I didn't use iron remover first. Just wash, Eraser prep, and CQuartz ceramic. Did it in a day and saved mucho dinero. Coated the decals and it did NOT make them glossy.
Coated all the decals as well...there is a slight sheen on the matte, but still matte. I will say the wheels definitely popped more with the ceramic and brake dust just washes off when I spray them down.

I was wondering if there was a guide for someone owning a Mach 1 which included: prepping for a mustang M1 (especially if you have never owned one), accessories, delivery, maintenance, etc? If not, I am happy to use this thread's insight to make one. :)

My M1 just got delivered to Granger. It's quite amazing. I have a couple of questions:

1. Ceramic Coat/PPF: Should you get this? If so, which one? I live in CA, but would be great to hear if this changes for different places. How much does this usually cost as Granger might be offering this around 2K/1.8K respectively, something like that (not confirmed).

2. Granger found it hard to deliver so I am booking my delivery myself through UShip. Has anyone done that before? Any other recommendations? Any configuration of delivery that you recommend sharing?

It would be great to use this thread and help out fellow M1 folks especially those are n00bs/first time owners like myself. Thanks! :)
See the "what to expect when expecting... a Mach 1 from Granger". thread from a few months ago. I got some very valuable replies. Although none of it helped avoiding a rear end collision I suffered last week.

Research your shipping options and be careful with who you choose on Uship.

There's quite a few threads in this sub-forum as well as the GT350 and GT500 sub-forums with reputable shippers.

If you enjoy taking care of your car like I do and keep it in a garage etc, Skip the ceramic expense. I had it on my Vette, paid 3500, I did not see the value. I rather use my sealers and take care of things myself. All for the plastic coat on the front IF you do highway miles. Just my two cents. Also, some colors benefit from ceramics better than others.

$3500 for only ceramic coating is a bit steep. Should be closer to $1800-$2000 with paint correction included. Ceramic makes washing a breeze and it's a lifesaver on these wheels with all the brake dust. Mine is garage kept and I still prefer to have it coated. The shine you get non stop with no additional effort is always great.

Alright, here are my quotes from Granger:

Full car PPF - 6500 (XPel ppf)
Front end PPF - 2295 (hood bumper fenders)
Ceramic coating - 2295

I am thinking Front end PPF + Ceramic coating but I know others have recommended just getting a full car ppf.

as someone else mentioned in a past thread. get it done locally.

if something is not done right, are you going to drive/tow it all the way back to Iowa to get it fixed? hell no. so tow it home, get it cc'ed/ppf'ed in your home city.

Not bad I guess. Some colors will pop. I'm getting Oxford White. Don't think that will pop 2200 times :)

Ceramic coating only added about $1200 to my cost when doing PPF and that included wheels and calipers. I would say it had a noticeable impact on FJG but even if It didn’t, the ease of washing especially the wheels and calipers was worth that cost alone. The HP wheels are not friendly to keep clean. And the front calipers are a bitch to clean. Having those coated has been a life saver.

Why not do a full body PPF and only a part PPF with ceramic coat - is it just for a better overall wash or do you feel full body PPF is not very useful in WA?
