Yeah I rushed it after work one day while drinking Tequila. Bad combo! I should have waited until Saturday morning like I normally do. All the greats are Chris! 🤣

Just a heads up. No aluminators that I could find
I ordered one the other day thru leathal performance. Just to find out that Ford Performance is out of stock with no eta. So i emailed ford performance and they said that their gonna be discontinued for the gen 4 blocks, so it's gonna be awhile.

Got the piston a bit lower and got some better pictures. Looks like the last picture is potentially where the ringland failed on the top? What about the excess amount of soot?

If the compression is that low, that could account for the discoloration. Not getting a clean burn. I don't see anything that screams broken ringland yet. It could be a bad ring itself or a valve issue. Next step is probably pull the head and get a good look.

Sounds like at this point the engine will need to come out right?

What made you pull it apart to find that? Low compression? Oil burning?
Started with a check engine light saying number 8 misfire and enough smoke coming out of the valve cover for me to notice when stopped at a light. Then we checked the compression and 8 was very low compared to the 240 ish PSI in all the other cylinders.

Atleast the OP got to enjoy his for a bit. I found this BS out when I went to pick it up from the shop that installed the turbo kit. They immediately blamed bad gas, and I must have done something to it. The whole thing was a shit show. (they likely popped it on the dyno doing back to back pulls. They had the knock sensors turned off in the tune.)

Dont get me started on the fiasco I fell face first into trying to upgrade my Torque converter.

I havent seen my car in over a year. If it wasnt for the monthly payments I would have forgotten I own it.

For those with an aluminator, whats the difference for gen3 aluminator vs stock? Where are the upgrades to bump it to what, 1200 whp rated?

Manley rods and Mahle pistons.
