I thought about buying the FP gen2 pump just to get the gears out of it to put in a gen3 but dang $800 is a lot of dough just for a set of gears.
Gen3 fluid damper is tuned for a specific resonance. Wouldn't that be out the window with more power and rpm?

There’s probably less than 5 people who can answer that accurately. But…changing mass and stiffness changes the resonant frequency. Adding damping does change the natural frequency but adding damping as a general rule reduces resonant response at all frequencies. Add enough and it becomes critically damped and the frequencies no longer matter.

They offer a optional wear coating because the base material is insufficient?
The base material is more than sufficient. I've used the standard Boundary OPG's/Sprocket on my 2018 GT which was an 8 second car and they held up great. Just like stainless steel headers, heat exchangers ,intercoolers and other parts optional coatings are offered for those that want it as an upgrade.

The car was sold a while back and is now located in the middle east. However it's still up and running strong ripping it up over there as we are still in contact with the owner of it.
Not many evaluate the condition of aftermarket opgs after use. Nice and Shiney when they went in!
