So long a you format to exFat you should be fine. I still use my mid 2011 iMac and have no issues.

Can you see the file on your Mac? Also try throwing some music files on a clean drive and see what happens.
Going to try one more thing.

I can see the files on my Mac. I'll post a screenshot if it doesn't work.

I'm on Big Sur.

Which is different than what Ford shows on their page.

I've formatted on the PC and Mac and still no luck.

I had the same issue with my iMac. Create a Syncmyride folder on the and move those files into the new folder. Then rename each of those files by removing the Syncmyride\ from each file. This worked for me. Good luck!

I think I found it. The car will now see the USB stick. I was not picking Master Boot Record, I was picking GUID Partition Map. I assumed a Master Boot Record was for making a bootable drive.

EDIT: For you Mac users - In reviewing what I did I think I may have discovered why my earlier update attempts failed. When I formatted the flash drives on my MacBook I used Disc Utility and it defaulted to GUID Partition when I chose ExFat formatting. I'm thinking I should have chosen Master Boot Record instead of GUID Partition prior to formatting.
I'll reload the files and try again later.

I suspect that Windows was only reformatting the volume and not the disk.

Yeah, your file structure is screwed up. This is what it should look like:

The above is from my iMac. The drive should have this:

That was, as we like to say, only one of my problems...

It only took about 20 minutes. It will take a lot longer to get my In N Out burger...

Next up will be the map update. Hopefully that is smoother.

There should be a hard button for all climate functions. This heated steering wheel feature screams of a last minute addition. I wonder sometimes if the designers do usability studies on the various functions of the car. For example: I have a 2014 Ford Fusion, the physical climate controls are touch sensitive and completely flat with no tactile feedback, down near the gear selector. You can't operate any of those buttons without taking your eyes off the road! To make matters worse, in the winter when driving with gloves on, I can't even use the climate controls without taking my glove off. To remove one glove I basically have to take both hands off the wheel briefly. Those controls don't work unless your hand is bare! This is a huge fail! Stepping off soap box now.
My Wife has a '14 Fusion and those controls drive me crazy too. My daughter has a '16 and they changed them to actual buttons again. Sounds trivial but I too hate the steering wheel heater control on the Mustangs.

just Noticed there is an updated for SYNC 3.4 20282. Anyone upgrade to it? And are there any release notes? I won’t be able to upgrade until spring when the beast is out from its slumber.

Looks like this update was for the Ranger. Ford already pulled it down.

Edit: OK, found this on the Focus RS site. Post 173.

And of course, Cyanlabs.

I checked owner.Ford.com and it showed the update was available for my BULLITT. I don’t recall having the climate control issue, but it would be nice to see if other changes are available.

I wonder if there is a new map update available with this version.

It is available for my car too.
I would like to know what the improvements are. I have build 20136 and I'm not changing it unless it's worth it.

If I remember right the sync update is fairly quick compared to the long map update. I just did the sync update but I can't remember how long it took. My map update took 1 hr and 8 minutes.

Downloading now. Will load it this afternoon as well.
  • Time. The update process will take 30-35 minutes, including occasional 60-90 second reboots to complete the installation.
Edit: Well that was fun. 28 minutes from start to 1st reboot. Then another 2-3 minutes before completion. Honestly could not see any differences. Made sure to send XML. file to Ford.

That's interesting. Usually new updates leak on CyanLabs first, then it takes months until Ford releases them officially. This time Ford has released it worldwide as soon it was available.
Another interesting point is that version 20196 seems to have been skipped entirely. We're jumping from 20136 directly to 20282. It seems that 20196 has never got and will never get beyond the status of unofficial leak.
