I posted about this issue in the past; you probably missed it :). You need to catch the 'countdown screen' before the system shuts off about the 45 minute mark, and if you turn ignition off then back on quickly, it continues. I barely caught it last time, so didn't have time to read the full screen message, and try clicking on the 'okay' button before shutting the ignition off and back on. Maybe there's no need to turn ignition off. Let's try to catch it early this time :D. But even if the countdown doesn't stop, turning ignition off then on worked perfectly for me twice (F-150 & Bullitt), including voice commands, so no worries. Hope this helps.
I did the 2019 map update split across 2 days. You can let the car power off timer go and do it's thing. It's ok. The install will resume when you press start again the 2nd time and will complete during the 2nd attempt. Just don't pull the USB. Everything updated smoothly.

I won't have time to play with the Forscan codes until the weekend. As you suggested, maybe the best way is to use quick boot and the Lincoln theme.
There's no rush, so don't worry. As I mentioned, I couldn't get the 'quick boot' to work on the Bullitt with 3.3. Hopefully you'll find a way to do that if you cannot keep the Mustang animation. Just get it done eventually. Ha ha. Good luck. Oh, and I'd keep the screen in 'auto' mode, regardless of 'theme'. Just thought maybe the current one changed all to dark gray and black in night mode, but nope.

Just went outside, and the countdown was already on, and no 'okay' button at all. So you have to shut the ignition off. Cycled the ignition quickly, and it immediately resumed updating, so it only makes sense it'd do the same if you do it later.

Here's the FORScan code somebody posted, but haven't tried it yet: APIM 7D0-02-03 xCxx xx. Let us know if it works :).

I haven't tried that, to be honest. But will try it next time :). I rarely talk while driving anyway, but sometimes just need to ask something quickly. Problem is it takes a lot of distraction to get to 'W', so just don't do it until I stop. Thanks brother.

EDIT: Just started the download, and set my phone's timer at 43 min :).

I don't know anything about forscan so I can't try it. I think you have to buy something for this correct?

Just a $15 adapter :). FORScan is free, but have to renew a license every 2 months (easily done). I can try to find the one I bought, if you want.

EDIT: Ebay erased the info, so don't have it anymore. But El Guapin solved your problem :D; just buy the cable from him.

Okay gang. I'm done, hopefully for good. Ha ha. Maps loaded fine, although I had to do another master reset for the G422-CAF file to show on the IVSU screen, so voice commands should work now (forgot to test them). The first time I downloaded the 1.19 maps (with Sync 3.3) I didn't have to do that. It finally shows 1.19 now, so all is well :D. Thank you everybody, especially UofMengineer for all the help. Just hope the Stang guy can come up with a way to permanently change the screen, but at least I already enabled the testing button on settings to change it quicker on a trip or something. Wish there was a way to leave it permanently in Lincoln mode thru settings (like holding it for a few seconds), but apparently that's not the case. Oh well.

I managed to get the 1.19 map update installed and Voice Commands back. All is good now...but what a three-week pain in the butt that ordeal was.

But you can say we're pros at doing this now. Ha ha. Hey, do you like the the blue on Sync 3.4? Wonder if I'm one of the few who dislike it... or if it's universally disliked.

I just updated mine. Took about 25mins. I have not updated the latest maps file since it takes so long and I never use the built in Nav I'm in no hurry. When the weather cools down some I get around to it. Maybe Oct or so.

I checked mine when I got off work tonight, and Ford's site finally showed I could upgrade. I downloaded everything, it took about 20-minutes, and it appeared to install fine. The first time I powered it up after install, I was worried I lost my Ford Performance GT350 splash screen, because it showed a Ford logo animation during startup. I powered it on a second time after that, and the Ford Performance screen is back at startup. I hadn't seen someone mention that yet, so figured I would.

Also, after reading some of the latest posts, I didn't check the voice commands yet. Is there any dead giveaway that they are not there, or I need to do a master reset?

Splash - Yeah sometimes that first reboot after an update the splash can be the default. Like you saw it clears up with the next cold boot.

Voice - Do you mean for v3.4 in general or Nav?

If you referring to system VC.. Go to car press the phone icon and say dial....(xxx)-xxx-xxxx. If you refereeing to NAV VC, press phone icon and say find.... gas station
Thanks to both of you for the answers. I just tried the voice commands, and everything worked great. Looks like I'm good-to-go.

lol Yes we are pros. I am not a big fan of the blue but I try not to let it bother me. I still can't believe in this day and age of technology, a person can't upload their own themes.

But you can say we're pros at doing this now. Ha ha. Hey, do you like the the blue on Sync 3.4? Wonder if I'm one of the few who dislike it... or if it's universally disliked.
