  1. 2023 Mustang Nite Pony Package Announced

LOL I agree with you....although it somehow fits for the Mach E..........
  2. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

It sure is heavy! A Mustang is meant to be sporty, not sedate. I agree that a true sports car is light, nimple and quick....like a Lotus, Miata, MG, Triumph, 240z etc I stand by my post though, a Mustang is sport minded first and everything else is much lower priority. If you take into context...
  3. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

Don't disagree that it is hard to beat a V8 for the sound and oompf when you floor it, however I am not really comaping the GT to the R. The better comparison with sound is the ECO, it just happens that stock for stock the R can keep up with the GT, at least on a road course. For a dedicated...
  4. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

Ok so we agree on at least two things:clap:....the Mustang is larger and heavier. I agree in part with your sports car statement when compared to other "sporty" cars....like a vette or 911 for instance, but the S550 to me is much more sports car then any VW. I say this, because the Mustang...
  5. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

You are not wrong. I am guessing your GTI was 2010 or newer. VW had a lot of quality issues to deal with, especially electrical. The prioritized making improvements across the board. The difference between a MK4 and 5 are impressive. they continued to do this year over year. The upside was a...
  6. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

That is odd....never heard of an engine imploding before . Aside from my Mustang I have two VW's one is a 2002 337 and a 2008 R32 (and a Porsche). In all the years of using them, modding them and hanging out with others that have owned sporty VW's, I have not come across anyone that has...
  7. High Performance Ecoboost vs Performance Pack GT

If going 4 cyl Turbo, I would get a 2022 VW Golf R. It will best a HPP Mustang on the track and at the strip. Does not sound as good as the HPP, but that can be fixed. The R also costs more - more on par with the GT. It also has a much better interior and utility. The Mustang does beat it out in...
  8. Jacking Rails That Are Below Pinchwed

I have the BMR and they are just below the pinch welds as Hillsndale stated. I have only seen BMR and Steeda, but I would agree that just about any normal jacking rails would protect the pinch welds since that is the biggest reason for using them.
  9. 2022 mustang gt base tick/knock

Are you sure it was piston slap? It is a different sound more of a knock than a tick. The a dealer should have been able to tell pretty easily if it were piston slap. I would agree with you if it was actually piston slap, that would be an issue...the bbq tick....not a issue other than maybe...
  10. 2022 mustang gt base tick/knock

Seems like you wasted a lot of money on a non-issue. Can you tell me what engine does not make any ticks, rattles, clicks, buzzes, hisses or similar? Every engine has its "signature" noise. I get that you maybe did not like the tick sound itself. Maybe a click or buzz is more to your liking
  11. Will the regular GT ever again have 460 or more HP without electric assist?

Maybe it is a local thing. I have 5 kids (youngest is 16) and all of them wanted or want their license asap. Same for their HS mates. Almost every senior and many juniors at their HS has a license. Most have their own car that they drive to school in. I did a quick search and found a link. Not...
  12. Will Gas Prices Affect Mustang Value?

That is expensive, but dollar amount does not equal inflation (also what was it back in Jan?). At least in the US, yearly inflation has never been over 18%. I can't imagine how things would be if it were that today no less 50%. 300% is really not achievable in today's world without a global...
  13. Will Gas Prices Affect Mustang Value?

LOL at 300% inflation.....the earth would be a smoldering cinder....something globally catastrophic would need to occur for inflation to get that high. In fact, we would all be goners probably when it approached 50%.
  14. Will Gas Prices Affect Mustang Value?

This might help explain why it happens and the greed of oil companies.... Why Does the U.S. Need Oil From Other Countries? (msn.com)
  15. Will Gas Prices Affect Mustang Value?

SUV's are just cooler looking minivans without the full utility of a minivan. Using your IKEA example, there are few (maybe none) 45k SUV's with the ability to pack in more stuff from IKEA than a minivan. People in the US at least have an image problem with minivans, station wagons, hatchbacks...
  16. Will Gas Prices Affect Mustang Value?

There is a big difference between 2008 and now. In 2008 there was a massive financial crisis that was based within the bank and other financial institutions. It permeated every monetary area except one, inflation. It was also not spurred on by a global pandemic which triggered a tech/chip...
  17. S550 may be eliminated sooner rather then later...

So average age is 11.5 not 8? That sounds more realistic. Is this data from car registrations, loans, purchases or some other source? Looks to be about the same in the US. • Average age of vehicles in U.S. 2021 | Statista The pandemic/chip shortage seems to be extending car use a bit. The...
  18. S550 may be eliminated sooner rather then later...

Pretty sure a quick google search will provide you the expert data on the chances for the items I cited. Not so easy to find something definitive on climate change other than data on the earth warming. Pretty sure the earth has warmed and cooled many times already. I can't find any that were...
  19. S550 may be eliminated sooner rather then later...

Are you saying 8 years is the avg age a new owner keeps the car or the avg age of all cars?
  20. S550 may be eliminated sooner rather then later...

So you say and that is fine although it does not mean you are right or wrong, just your opinion. My point is that the changes are incremental and not all due to fossil fuels. It has influenced it in a direction, but it is so small most people do not notice any change. Another point was that...
