Just got home from the autox. Placed 2nd in FS out of 7 cars including an m3, another 2015 gt PP, cts-v, scat pack challenger, etc. The m3 won but I was only a second off of him and he's a seasoned veteran. Not too bad for a first timer imo.
That is great. Way to represent.

I assume the M3 is a 2014 and newer?

I believe it was an 08. He did have different wheels on advan neova's but that was it.

Autox done today.."Service Advancetrac" popped up twice during runs. Just switched to extreme tires 265/40/18 from my OEM 255/40/19 could this be the issue? Was running with Advancetrac on and traction off due to wet conditions...any clue about this message that popped up?
Tires aren't your problem. I was never able to do more than a run or two without that coming up. Not sure how to disable it completely but that's what we need to do.

Maybe someone will eventually come up with a tune of some sorts that lets us do that, or maybe there is a fuse we can pull?

Do not run with Advancetrac on. You don't learn anything that way.

I have had the warning come on before, I have never been able to pinpoint the cause, it is really random. The only common denominator had been heavy braking and turning at the same time.

Normally don't run with it on but conditions warranted it for my skill level yesterday so I did...seemed to be during hard braking and then a very sharp turn...was same spot on track

Yup, problem is that even if it is disabled, it will come up with that service message.

Easy was to test this is to turn it completely off and do a 180 turn. Service message comes on every time. (even though advance track is OFF by holding on the button for 7+ secs)

It's horrible because it comes on and your run is over...

CAM-C allows for a lot of stuff, little problem is depending where you are - there's little competition in it.

So long as I can run, I'm happy. I'm not worried about competing

I ran with advancetrac fully off yesterday and I never had a service message come up. Had the car sideways a few times and even spun out during one of the fun runs at the end of the day when I was really trying to test the limits.

I normally go into sport trac for the fun stuff.

Yea I agree, although I think it happens to me without braking. It might be also be happening when you lift off the throttle and induce a little rotation that way. Occurred 4 times to me, 3 times in the same turn, then another a few turns later. OEM tires

I've never had any advanced trac issues doing 180 turns. And iv'e done them in every Advanced trac configuration to include Normal, Sport+ and track mode. As well as track mode with AdvTrac off. Never had an AdvTrac message.

Damn, that sucks. Mines just really sensitive then.
i get them frequently with everything off, especially on uneven/bumpy sites. i can reliably replicate on any steady state element with a big mid-corner bump that requires countersteering and throttling out of.

was alarming at first, but i've noticed that when it faults, it isn't actually intervening with throttle/brake like it did when the same thing happened on my '13 GT. so i just ignore them now, and turn my car off and on between runs to be safe :)

My service AdvanceTrac warning has come on once or twice in 122 autocross runs. I've had a few spins or near spins. When the warning happened AdvanceTrac did NOT come on. In fact if I read the FSM properly a service warning actually disables the system.

Regarding being able to disable ABS - Why? It does not "misbehave" and does a great job of preventing tire flat spots in autocrossing.

I forgot to turn off AdvanceTrac Sunday for one autocross run. Figured it out when I lost power in a sweeper. Didn't forget again. :-)

Here's a question that may sound dumb but few folks from what I read above participated in National events.

Have free entry into one National Event and there's one coming up in Wilmington - spots still available so decided to use it since won't take anybody else's spot. The question is - there seem to be required sponsor stickers - are these actual stickers (not magnetic or vinyl decals) and do they easily come off ?
