Lol, /thread. Basically what most of us have been saying for years, especially in the RR section.

FI should be just about the last thing you do on the car. After you've done every other traction/handling mod in the book and after you've absolutely perfected your driving skills, if you're still struggling against the big boys on the straights then you go FI or high RPM N/A for power.
ya that's pretty much my story. I did suspension, brakes, tires, etc and went FI because I was getting passed on the straights. I probably should have worked on my driving skills for a bit longer but those Black Friday deals were hard to pass up.

If you’re going to push it hard with FI I would budget the following…

1. Budget an additional $20-30k for engine/fuel system/cooling

2. Plan to miss 50% of your track time sessions due to mechanical issues at track for the first year or so.

3. Invest countless hours researching and dealing with issues as you work through the bugs whether you do the work or pay someone!

good luck!

if you wanna go fast reliably do diff cooler, engine oil cooler, big radiator,, hood vents, headers, tune, e85, fuel surge aero and hoosiers

I got bored and added a Vortech V3 package from Beefcake during the lockdowns. I also did OPG/CS. I have done suspension, chassis, brake cooling, hood vents and opened up front grill. I bought the kit changed the include 3.6 pulley to a 3.8 and tuned on 91. I asked for a conservative tune from Lund. I add a can of Octanium unleaded every tank on track days and nGuage shows a consistent adding of 5-6 degrees of timing. Still have cats and stock exhaust as to sound limitations at some tracks. Opening up the front grill in combination with hood vents allows me to run 20 min sessions and keeps engine oil and coolant temp and auto trans temps in check. On a 75 outside temp I finished my session with 208 coolant temp, 220 head temp and 217 a10 temp. I have to address rear diff cooler next as this is the weak limiting link in my sessions. IAT’s always steady a 3 degrees over outside air temp except when sitting in traffic. I have had no issues have about 12 HPDE weekends under my belt and am driving at the limit of my Hankook RS4’s 305 square on PP2 Wheels. Car dyno’d at 630 WHP and 508 wheel torque on a Dynopack. Hope this helps.
