Road Atlanta HPDE

Had a great time today with Just Track It at Road Atlanta. Been to the track to spectate and corner marshall but had never actually made a lap until today. Track is just as sweet as it looks on tv for Petite LeMans. Learned a bit about the car today. GT w PP on Steeda springs, sways, and BMR vertical links. We need stiff dampers in a bad way with upgraded springs. The car would not settle in the Esses until it bounced a couple times and really loaded the rear spring. Next thing I learned is you can end up driving one out the side windows before ASM and TC kicks in. Exiting 5 got a little sporty a couple times. Hit the bump stops a bunch on the high speed turns. All in all it was a good day cause I got to beat on it like it owed me money.

Going to try running on a course for the first time this coming spring.

I wont do another HPDE or drive my car much until springtime so I will probably wait for Konis unless theres gonna be a longer delay for em.

I did AMP a few times with Track Night America. That track is a bit more technical 2nd and 3rd gear mostly), but I found it helped out to turn off all the nannies and just figure how to modulate the pedal.

No video, My GoPro crapped out on me about 2 months ago and I havent replaced it yet. It would just be dash video of me getting passed by a bunch of people anyways.

I just signed up for a track day at AMP! I am really looking forward to taking my car out on the track for the first time. I thrashed a little Miata out there for a couple of sessions, and that was a blast. I can not wait to see how my car does.

How did your car do? Any suggestions before I go out there?

I was stock with no mods, just be sure to disable Advance Track. I think the Sport steering is a bit too quick for a track that technical and kept it in normal. If you want t good track walkthrough, check out the Randy Probst track analysis videos on You Tube for lines and speeds then figure out what you know your power levels are. Shifting in some of those corners is a hairball because theyrre so tight. Give yourself room to experiment with inputs and start slow and build out. Sounds like you have power adders so start small with the throttle and figure out where the slip angles are best for each corner (they're no where clost to simmilat). AMP is a 2nd and third gear track mostly
