Hi all, is it just that these are pre-production cars or have they decided to not place a Ford blue oval anywhere on the cars?

Nope, that's actually a long standing Mustang tradition, IIRC.

No blue oval. From an interview in British magazine Car, with Moray Callum, Ford's executive director of design:

Will the Mustang have a Ford badge?

I’ve been at Ford for 15 years and the debate about the Blue Oval badge on the Mustang comes up every time we make a new one. We definitely won’t replace the horse badge with a Ford one.

I've owned two Mustangs a 1969 Mach 1 and a 1994 GT the Gt had a small Blue oval but thinking back the Mach 1 did not... I have not owned once since but this new design is really nice, can't wait to see the Boss 302 version!

I'm glad it is not on the outside. Kinda like the Corvette, you don't see that stupid gold bow tie on the exterior anywhere. (Although a tiny one is hidden in the Corvette crossed flags, but you can't see it unless you are on top of it).

They mentioned this in some recent video that was posted on here. Ford was talking about the development of the 2005 and they specifically took out the blue oval on the 2005 (that they were planning) because of feedback they got from enthusiasts. See, they do listen sometimes. We just have to scream loud enough :)

I wouldn't mind if the FORD blue oval was on the car. It's all over our 88GT. I don't understand why it's such a big deal.

Because it screams generic and parts bin?

Think about if it was on the steering wheel...

I'd look for the Blue Oval...or at least the FORD script to be on the wheel center caps....as it's been for a few years.

I would't care. That's how it is on our 88. It doesn't make the car any slower just because it says Ford instead of Mustang.

Is this just Ford tricking you into thinking your car is more special than it is? If you think about it, every part in the car is a Ford part because Ford paid their suppliers for the parts.

Kinda like Cadillac tricking people into buying Cavaliers just because they put "Catera" on it.

The Mustang is a Ford even if it doesn't show it. The car is no more special because it doesn't say Ford.
