Hello, all. Second time posting. I have an ‘18 Mustang Gt w/ a closed box Roush CAI, LTH longtube headers, and a MBRP Race catback on a 93 tune. (I don’t have access to e85 down here) and i was looking into getting tuned professionally. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

The best advice I can give you is make sure you have enough spare cash set aside if you ventilate the block, damage the trans or blow up the rear and have no warranty coverage. Sure, that’s drastic, but it comes with the territory of modding and going faster.

Also be aware that the EPA has been cracking the whip on aftermarket tuner companies and parts that are not within their compliant realm - so what may be here today, may be gone tomorrow as far as tuning support.

Yep, go back to stock. Or have a plan to stop, mine started with just CAI. I've replaced everything but the engine at least once, and now doing it all soon. Some due to breakage some due to wanting to go faster. Any of the big tuners should be able to help. I've used beefcake for most of my stuff and have been happy.

The others are right, you do run a much greater risk of the engine or trans blowing due to a badly installed part or a bad tune.

Mine did but I also didn't care about the obvious signs something was wrong so it was totally preventable by me.

My recommendation is to do datalogs and make sure the car is running good every once in a while.

The big tuners are palm beach and Lund. Positive and negative things about both. Some other tuners that have been gaining popularity are JPC and Trickey.

Trickey has been super popular with the 10r80 N/A crowd. Also been hearing good things recently about palm beach with the N/A 10r80 guys.

I recommend you do a lot of research on possible tuners and email all beforehand. See which one feels better to you.

I was Lund tuned years ago, very happy. Also check out Wengard, OZ and Livernois. My biggest decision is based around the tuning device, not saying yours should be but it’s just that I really liked the nGauge and I’m trying to satisfy myself with something similar.

I've had a Livernois Flex tune on my 21 Mach 1 A10 for little over a month now.
I've run E70 (best I have near me) and 93 and a mix so far. Car runs great, and the power is very noticeable especially in the lower RPM's where you want it.
Today I was on the Facebook Mach 1 forum and was reading a post that someone created about this vey subject, "should I Tune"
One of the tuners named RPM chimed in saying that you should not run a flex tune all the time, that it's only for transition, Weird as Livernois and Palm Beach say its fine, just let the computer learn the ethanol content for 10 min after filling up.
He also said that our computers can't read ethenol content which is why flex is bad but, when I have the tuner hooked up while driving I can clearly see the ethenol content on the screen which actually matched what I consistently tested at my local gas station.
Lastly he said that running E85 on stock cats is bad and will ruin them.
How much truth is here? Why so many conflicting stories?

There are thousands upon thousands of tune-only s550 mustangs running around with no problems. Don’t listen to these hand-wringers. Enjoy modding your car. Tune it. I am sad to admit, however, that the 93 tune is no where near as significant a change for a basic bolt-on NA car as the e85 tune.

And shopping by tuning device is great advice, as is simply going with one of the big names who have been in the game for a long time.

My thoughts exactly. I was starting to think I was reading a thread full of EPA employees.

Lund, PBD, Wengerd, AED, Ortiz, Juggernaut.

I am personally Lund tuned, but all of those other tuners are highly recommended by ppl in the ESS supercharger FB group.

Since you're NA it will be a fairly easy tune so find a tuning device you like then match it with a tuner you're comfortable with who has support for that device.

And I agree with @Cordero1 and @Mike-S550 . There's some weird hysteria in this thread right now. Don't be scared of modding/tuning as long as you follow instructions and cover all your bases.

Juggernaut or Ortiz could get that dialed in for sure! We're running a Juggernaut tune on our 2018 BL Fab Single turbo car making 1350+ wheel and they've done great.

Even on pump gas you'll see really good gains over the stock tune!

Feel free to DM me or call with any questions!

Very happy with Oz and Ortiz both. People seem to have really loved the ngauge even though the RTD+ products are superior

Rtd superior to ngage naw. RTD are just replacement substitute. Cause NGUAGES are not available
