CAI on a Gen3 appears to be a complete and total waste of money as long as it's NA. I haven't dyno'd pre/post on my Unleashed Tuning tunes (93, and 30pct E85) but I can say the cars (2.3EB, 5.0, 6.3LT1) drive so much better it's not funny. the engines willingly rev now and make solid power everywhere.

@Bluemustang you got a Sunoco(?) near you with actual E85R - it's not the same thing as E85. If you want some, it's like $400/50 and the closest distributor I know of is in Delaware.

They are. I had one on my 19 before getting supercharged.
Oh, while there ya go. So the OP could run an E30/E40 mix and still get a benefit, with a larger fuel range vs. E85. It won't be quite the same as a straight E85 tune, but a small bump over 93 nonetheless.

That is what I enjoyed about having the Flex Fuel and E85r tunes. When the gas was really good, a quick swap over to the E85r was all I needed. Really miss being able to do that.

This is the most recent posted dyno, from a member here, of the ford performance tune before and after install. It's better than the advertised claims.

I think the jump in torque at 2k isn't so much the parts, though, but the loosening up of all the torque management built in the stock tune for various reasons. Torque truncation is the actual artificial limitation of the engine torque to protect the transmission. This is why I think you see so much variance between tunes. Hop over to hptuners and you'll see for yourself that this stuff is very difficult to get right without personal logging and a lot of tweaking. Reportedly The a10 also has a bit more of it built in. So the manual is actually putting more power to the ground but is still slower because of only having 3 underdrive gears.

All said and done, though, I think e85 is the best way to go. I'd probably get a tune for it if e85 was much more plentiful. It's starting to pop up a bit near me but travel just a tiny bit out and it's nonexistent. I can't miss what I don't have, so I'm hesitant to even try e85.

I rather doubt that. sub-2500 is just noise and highly unreliable for any comparative purpose. Now if the pull had started cleanly at 1500 RPM you might have a point. Frankly below 3k RPM is not worth examining.

Keep in mind if tracking alot (or driving in general) there is a steep increase in iats with open intakes like the FP. Higher temps mean pulled timing and less power. If available by far the best bang for your buck is tuning for e85 and keep stock air box with a drop in. Whether it's a flex tune or straight e85r tune it's a different car running on e. E85 tune alone no parts is worth about double the power of the FP kit at a fraction of the cost. But for those that value warranty over performance and may not add any other mods down the road (no tune revisions with FP, custom tune can be updated as you go) maybe the FP kit is an option. Or if e isnt available in the area then obviously that's different. In addition to the power keep in mind the advantages of the cooling properties of running e as well.

IAT isn't really a concern on a track. Dragstrip maybe. But on a track fresh air is flowing constantly at speed into the airbox. There's certainly more power to be made over the stock airbox.

I flashed teh Ford factory tune back on my EB in prep for dealer sale. I had an Unleashed E30 tune on it before, and flushed the tank with 93 octane. What a SHITTY ass tune the factory one is!!
