New Sync 3 Map Update

My SYNC took about an hour on my home wifi at 5ghz and 4-5mbps speed. Where did you get your new MAP from? is the first upgrade free from ford or do you purchase from a provider/ Thanks

It was free from Ford, first time the car had been updated from new. Since I downloaded mine to a flash drive from my computer, I wasn't including download time, just the 15 min it took to install after I plugged the drive into my car.

A few weeks ago there was a free map update available since I've never updated my maps. Now it's gone. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

If you have a free update coming it will only be available as a download. If you want a preloaded stick you have to pay for it. This is where you might have gotten mixed up.

I have noticed that Ford is now offering 5-year subscriptions. I did download that free update last month to a USB stick and glad I did.

I believe it is NA 221.

Thanks, have to love their naming conventions. I also noticed the files in the folder actually only have one that says 2022, all the rest are 2021 and earlier.

I believe it is 1.21.

If I drive it to NC this weekend, guess I will stick in the USB and let it do it's thing. I still use Waze and Google for most travel....but the last time I did use the car Navigation, I was surprised to get a message saying people on the road 2 miles ahead and guess what, there was a car broken down 2 miles ahead. I didn't see the people though. This was on I-20 right off I-95.

I got the free map update from the Ford site. I just spent 2 hours with the car running trying to update the maps. Maps I will never use I might add! While this was taking place sync was updating via wifi. I got several prompts that sync was updated. I never got the prompt that I could remove the thumb drive. I finally gave up and removed it. I'm now getting an error stating that the installation wasn't completed......

I did the free update on my 19 3 months ago. I hooked a battery charger to my car and it took a little over 2-1/2 hours using my home Wifi only, no thumb drive.

Just plug it back in and go for an hour's drive or so and it will pick up where it left off and finish the install.

+1 The system cannot do two updates at once even though it might have appeared that way. Just in case turn off your Wi-fi.

Lastly what is your build number? It should be 22200 if it updated properly.
