New 2022 Map Version for Sync 3

Got an e-mail form Ford today Looks like the 2022 map version is available. If you are out of free downloads here are the prices. I'm going to stick with what I have and just use Apple Maps from now on.

I tried updating to the latest map version last fall via free download. I never succeeded. Tried high quality 32gb , two file formats, multiple file downloads, and even two different cars. Errored out after 20 minutes. Every. Single. Time.

Meanwhile android auto will no longer connect either.

That typically happens when you don’t the the files loaded correctly on your usb drive. I made that mistake twice. Their website doesn’t do a good job of describing the correct file pathway configuration.

You also have to make sure you give it time to fully load. I realized that I didn't do that last time. I went to punch in an address and it wouldn't let me. Fortunately I still had the loaded USB drive. Went back to the car, started it, loaded the drive, and took off. After awhile it finally said OK dumbass you're finished!

Honestly, I'm not sure about anything these days. But the folks over on the Sync forum said this is the 22' update and I am currently on 21'. so........

I gotcha, yeah I just checked and the sync page said I’m up to date.

Thanks for posting this. I had not yet received a notification, but when I checked the Ford Sync and Nav page with my VIN it showed that I had a complimentary (free) upgrade available. Downloaded and just installed in my 2022 — Nav upgraded successfully from NA 2 21 to NA 2 22.

I did have same problem like you did. When I called support they said as long as it showed the current map version in the vehicle, then it is updated.

I don't take my car out of state, so I really don't need navigation. I can use my phone for navigation.

People still use this garbage even though just about everyone has access to carplay or android auto?? The new apple maps and I know google maps apps have offline maps modes now where you can outline an area any size and the app will download all the streets and addresses and whatnot so even if you have zero signal, maps still works. I did most of the state of FL offline and it was like 1.4gb DL. My iPhone is a 512gb model so this is no sweat. No need to use the garbage car nav even though I have it.

CyanLabs for the win. Their updater takes the guesswork out of it and even has an ” interrogator” feature to query your SYNC system to determine versions and problems. I just updated my SYNC to 3.4.23188 and maps to 2.22 (2022) today using their updater.

I have a free map update message in Ford Pass. I don't want to eff this thing up and the nav sucks compared to AA and waze. Is it worth the trouble to update maps?
-I assume the stick has to be used on a computer and not my phone. So a 128g micro sd in a usb will be plenty?
-Cyanlabs is a foreign language to this rock and spear guy.
Car is a 2022 gt premium.

I managed to download the update and as soon as I plugged in the usb stick it literally showed "Complete" before I could take my fingers off of the stick. Not sure it even worked. I don't recall seeing the posted speed limits on the screen before but I am not sure one way or the other. Here is what is on the screen now. Anyone know if this is the updated version? I typically use AA and waze.
