Hi I have a 2015 gt premium with the sync 2. Ford stopped the updates for this a few years ago. What do I have to do to get navi outside of using my phone? Thank you in advance

Upgrade to a Sync 3 system. You can get it without or without Nav. You can also use Apple CarPlay or AndroidAuto.

For those (The Demon) wishing to search music on your USB.. A recent update killed that but I fixed it in my car using ForScan. You have to activate something called Nav-In-Motion. This enables the keyboard and search function while you drive. I did this a while back so hopefully it still works with newer versions. Look up a YouTube video called "3 Ford Focus Features you can program with forscan!", by TORQUE & TECH. All of this worked with my 2019 GT/CS. What NIM does is switch to a European mode where they have less restrictions. You'll know you did it right when the speed limit shows up in a red circle and FM stations have a 0 being the frequency, such as 95.70 FM. This has not affected any of the updates I've done since, at least in my car. Wife's Edge ST as well.

I haven't read this complete thread so this might duplicate previous info.

Heads up for installing Nav update NA 2-20 on a 2018 Mustang with Sync 3.0 build 20204 using the Ford supplied USB drive. I don't know if the process is the same with the DIY download files.

The process included two "restart your engine" steps which are not in the instructions which came with the USB drive or on the Ford website. The first was associated with the "do you want to proceed message" shortly after starting the update. The other was after about 45 minutes. This mentioned that the first part of the process was complete and that a restart was needed for the second part. About 30 minutes later the final message appeared as noted in the instructions. This is the "remove the USB drive and restart the engine" message.

Note that my display screen became black both times after I cleared the first two messages until I turned off and restarted the engine. Also note that the map version number indicated NA 2 20 during the final 30 minute update segment even though the process was not complete.

Voice command for addresses and POI's works.

The "system has been updated" icon/message appeared.

I'd love to go thru the steps for my 2021 Mach 1 but the Ford map site says "invalid VIN" so I can't get the update. (Sync 3 is updated.) Multiple calls to Ford CRC have not resolved the issue. I welcome any suggestions from someone with experience or connections to Ford.
