I’m a fan of plum crazy purple. Yes it’s a Mopar color but you could make it your own.
also a fan…but ONLY on mopar related cars 😬

that would be like painting a GTX in Wimbledon White with blue rocker stripes…jus sayin 😂

Thanks for all that. I am overwhelmed at the choices, but you give good advice.
No thanks required Tom, you know I enjoy photos and color correcting so it was fun. <smile>

Yep, I would definitely be overwhelmed with this task, not to mention that it would be enormously anxiety-inducing for me. You and all the other applicants who opted for a one off color will be in the same bote but what a ride that will be!

We'll just hang loose in the peanut gallery, add what little we are able, and revel in the process. <smile>

Online, there are several companies that specialize in custom colors and they offer swatches for $1.50 per sample.
Oooo..now I sure like the sound of that and, assuming that their swatches are color accurate, that's really the only way to actually SEE the real color that will be on yours. I could do fifty images of slightly different hues in PS but it would all be a "guess" to your eye because a PC (or Mac) display requires regular adjustments for color accuracy and even if the display was tweaked correctly, it still wouldn't show the exact color to the eye.

Definitely research these swatch outfits Tom and I highly recommend using one of them when you get close to locking in your color.

Speaking of which, I am most curious as to how Ford wants you to "define" your color, i.e., do they ask for RGB, CYMK, LAB or some other color profile numbers?

I feel ya Michael as I was a devout MOPAR guy back in the day. That said, colors are just colors and I think it's simply your memories that generate, "only on MOPAR cars."

OMG, it's been almost a lifetime since I've seen a first gen GTX, Johnny and it sure looks like it's in pretty darn good shape. What's the drivetrain like?

I sure didn't expect that answer Johnny, I was thinking 318 or 383/2bbl <smile> but man would I love to have that car. BTW, did you do the stroking and poking? <BSEG>

When I get back from my next trip, I'll put some time into it. It would be nice to know how much extra the custom colors are going to cost.

Hopefully not a ton, I mean, I know it will cost a little extra cause they can't get it in bulk like they would a normal line assembled car but still

S650 RTR in Mystichrome. I know that color isn’t an option for GTD, but thought I’d post it anyway

I’m sure if they offered it on the GTD they would have so many requests they just couldn’t do it.

I’ve heard several body and paint guys say it’s nearly impossible to match. I’m guessing Ford took it out of the mix for that reason alone. If someone ends up needing body work done on their GTD, they’d likely have to have the whole car resprayed and I’m sure Ford doesn’t want the owners of those cars to have to go through that. Just my thought on why it’s not an offered color. It is a cool color though, legendary even.

I am saying go for Deep Impact Blue or whatever this base color is, and then apply all those stickers!
