Absolutely Adrian , your build is custom and a bit different also big single turbo with stuff all airflow. So the more you can do to help cool thing the better in your situation.

i know you keep referring to Fathouse Fab Stuff. take a look at there builds on there web site. They dont use the water cooling ports on the Tial MVS gates untill 1250HP and above packages.

I do eventually want to cool the gates when I go BB turbos maybe a couple years from now, that way I can just plum everything in one shot for the BB turbos. This car will mostly be a street / show car since NJ has almost closed all its strips. NJ also doesn't see 100+ degree days very often if at ever. I'm sure I'll be fine for now. I also want to keep it on pump Sunco 94 +Boostane since E85 is a nightmare to get in NJ. It involves going into really bad areas of the oranges to get it. On the other side, by PA, a lot of Sheetz have stopped carrying E85. If I have to go e85 I'll try to figure something out but I'm really trying to steer clear of it if at all possible. I almost rather run a meth kit because it's actually easier for me to get methanol than E85. I have a buddy with a 1K HP Supra and even he went flex fuel because he got tired of driving 30min+ for E85 into the ghetto and that car drinks E85.

That’s a good testament for your setup in an extremely hot environment.

Just curious, have you ever looked at your wastegate diaphragms and compared how they look now vs when they were new? I know heat is eventually a killer of anything, but in your case, even if an inspection revealed signs of brittleness or cracking, I’d say 64K miles is more than a fair run before having to replace them.
Haven't looked at them since swapping springs back when I added the boost controller. So probably 30-40k ago? If boost starts fluctuating I'll take a look but I'm not worried about them at this point.

Eh? all the ones I go to in the lehigh valley and the one in carlisle have E85.

You're right about it being virtually non-existent in NJ tho

When you guys are saying E85 at a Sheetz or a station, are you saying they have E85 at the pump, or they have flex that can be testing from E51-E84 but will often-times test higher than E84?

Are you going to utilize the coolant feature on the wastegates to keep them cool?

What block setup is that? Is it a generic piece or meant for the coyote? Any links?

Lol, that too, although he may have better luck finding Evil Energy or Podaville products on Amazon.
Yuck, I only use BMRS stuff, occasionally XRP, quality is much better than most other brands.

So next question is, where are you returning all of those feeds back to? Are you using a second block then connecting it to the rad or some other port?

I haven’t installed mine yet, but the -4AN feed lines return back to the coolant block.

I have an MMR head cooling mod on my car. To feed the coolant block, I’ll cut that line and run each of them to the larger ports on top, just like FatHouse does. I hope that’s the answer you’re looking for.

Is there any sort of restrictor in the middle of that block? If not, I'm not sure how there is enough pressure differential to actually feed and return thru the same block. There typically has to be a restriction of some sort in between them to "force" the water to the WG's and any other components you are cooling, such as tubo's. Water, or any fluid or even air for that matter, wants to take the path of least resistance and it has no reason to flow to a wastegate and back if it's not being forced to do so.

I have the Gen 5 gates and am familiar with how to water cool them. I called and spoke to the tech at TurboSmart and asked if I needed to consider adding the water cooling ports to my WG's as I am looking to make north of 2000rwhp with my setup and he said unless I am doing endurance racing where I will beating the crap out of the turbo's & WG's for "long
periods of time that it is not needed at all. I then asked what about 1/2 mile or even 1 mile racing as I intend on doing 1/2 miles runs at a minimum as well and he said no need. Basically if you are road racing the car, drifting it, off-roading or rally racing where you are beating it for minutes & minutes or hours of racing, it's just not needed and doesn't attribute to any longer longevity to going thru the hassle of hooking them up.

@myfast70 there is no separate restriction inside the block, but I guess you could say the -4AN feed and return lines could serve as restrictors.

I’m not arguing the fact that utilizing the cooling ports will be more work to plumb, but I would like to think that long distance driving will retain more heat in the gates and therefore, any additional cooling should provide some benefit.

I’ll have to cross these bridges when I get to them and see whether or not this will work out for me. As always, I’ll share the good, the bad and the ugly on how that goes.
