Hi There,

I wanted to share the progress of my custom hellion turbo kit build. I bought the kit in rough shape used from another mustang owner who wrecked it. I'm in the process of repairing and upgrading the parts. The original turbos from the kit were pretty beat up and I decided to replace the turbos with boostlabs 6262RS turbos with T51R mod. I also purchased the hellion 4 into 1 collectors and upgraded the motor mounts to BMR adjustable with BMR brackets, which you can see in the pictures. I'm going to run my own electric scavenge pump Turbowerx basic with the kit because the SC-101 in the hellion kit was in really bad shape and not worth the repair. I also upgraded the waste gates to Turbosmart genV 40mm waste gates with 7 PSI spring and they'll both be hooked up to a Turbosmart Eboost2 controller with dual 4 ports solenoids. I also will be running a AEM boost gauge / AEM wide band and am currently welding in the bung for it on the down pipes. I decided to pump the return turbo oil to a Mishimoto 19 row oil cooler onto a BMR front bar before returning to a UPR oil cap. The intake is going to get a 2018 ported junkie with IMRC delete. The fuel system will be running a Fore Innovations dual 274 pump with parallel rails and FC2 controller with 1050XDS injectors. I'm going to try to make custom V band pipes to mount into my 2.5 inch borla s type with out the 2 inch step down for the stock clamps. The only piece I'm missing is the two charge pipes from the turbo to the intercooler, which Hellion says will be in stock in October for me to purchase.

I'm undecided as to who I'm going to go with when I tune it. I'll keep posting progress pictures as I go.

Nice. Couple things I notice... the eboost2 will give you boost #'s. Not sure what tuner your going to use, I have a ngauge and it reads factory wide bands. So you dont reallly need aem wide band gauge? Also, dont waste your money on a ported intake. Im running a stock 2018 with imrc locked out and those turbos are going to make more power than you need. Mine made 1055 whp (64/66 precisons) on 16ish lbs with the 4:1 headers and full 3" exhaust.

I monitor boost with the eboost2 and keep the afr gauge up on my factory screen. I'd save some money there and go 3" on the exhaust. Those turbos are going to want to breath. A 2.5" resonator was my choke point until I swapped it out.

@Vandor I see you mentioned ed t pruning a scavenging pump. When you get to the point, will you please post pics of where you mount the pump. Are you planning to set it up to run whenever the engine is running or put it on it’s own activation switch?

Yes, of course. I hope to have it mounted this week. I had a machine shop make a bracket for it out of some sheet metal.

Where do you intend to feed the oil return back into the engine (timing cover or oil pan)?

Got the junkie intake manifold in with 1050XDS injectors and Fore innovations fuel rails. I'm waiting on the push to lock kit for the waste gate to solenoids and I goofed on the scavenge pump. I meant to order the mini exa but ordered the basic and it's too big for how I wanted to mount it. Thankful they let me send it back since it was unused and exchange it. So I'm still in a holding pattern on the return lines. Also the return fittings won't fit with how the turbo is clocked. So going to have to probably looking into new return fitting off turbo that extends down a little. Also think going to mount the vacuum manifold to the plastic holders for the heater hoses. I decided to pull trigger on BBK 90MM TB so I'm waiting on that also. I removed all the spark plugs and I'm waiting on the gap tool to gap the 6510's to .028, which seems to be the agreed spot on them for the mustang. I also going to mount the 4 port solenoid to the inside fender I'll take pictures once it's in. Also the IMRC has been completely deleted.

UPR makes an oil cap with threads in the middle for AN fittings. I ordered that with 10 AN and I'm going to dump it back in with the cap like hellion does. Not the greatest but it'll work and I don't have to worry about drilling anything. If I was doing OPG's I'd probably just tap the cover while I had it off and knew I could clean it up really good while it was off.

Here is my O2 port welded in. I wish I could take all the credit but my buddy, who is a welder, set the machine up and everything for me and then gave me pointers and let me weld it. I think it came out ok....
