My technical knowledge of manual transmissions isn't that great. In fact, it's pretty much non-existent. Should I worry, or no?

I wouldn't worry. Without hearing your car in person it's hard to tell. Go to a dealer for a proper diagnosis if you want peace of mind.

Our trans whines like a damn Eaton Supercharger.

We beat the heck out of it though, and it shifts like butter. ;)

700rwhp through the MT82 with stock internals will be pushing it to the limit. I think with a straighter cut gear kit in it, you could achieve it but it would also need to be face plated as there isn't much reason to spend the money on a high end synchronized gear kit when you could just replace the unit with a Magnum XL. Its a fine balancing act for sure. From our feedback, if we can offer some products to upgrade the unit and keep it to $2500 or less, customers will consider it. Once it gets over that, it makes sense to invest a few more bucks and do the Magnum XL.
I've already invested in driveshaft, clutch, flywheel, shifter. Makes more sense to me to spend the money rebuilding the MT82 with stronger internals than changing transmissions. I already talked to them about it and the 11-14s cost $900 for the stage 1 rebuild, should be similar for the 15s, maybe a little more.

Resurrecting this one...

Recently I started getting the notorious whine when in lower gears and it has also started making noise when in neutral. Simply pressing the clutch in and the noise goes away, release and it comes right back. Clutch feel is fine, no slipping.

There seems to be mixed opinions on this being the throw out bearing or the input shaft bearing.

I was planning on a trans fluid change and a new clutch but if it's the input shaft bearing none of that will help...

Thats a hard to determine,i would say the throwout bearing if whining in neutral. If speed shifting alot i would even say throwout bearing more.I could not hear your videos because im at work but will play them when i get home

Videos aren't the best, but the sounds are similar to most the the others I hear. I don't power shift, speed shift, etc.

I really think its the throw out bearing,i dont see the input shaft bearing failing that quick, unless when u change the fluid theirs alot of material in it.My throwout bearing is making a little noise now also,we both hit the track occasIonally and the clutch takes a good beating. Its really hard to say from the video.

With the gt350 coming out with a tremec would it be possible to swap that in directly and hopefully get the hell away from these stupid mt82s?

2015 mustang gt premium transmission ruined

My 2015 GT premium was delivered to me in jan 2015.....and I had been happy with it.....I'm a 43 year old disabled veteran....I responsible adult.....I don't let anyone else drive my car and I don't run it hard....due to a change in circumstances I've had to put more miles on it over the last few months than I would like(28000 to date)....mostly normal highway driving(long work commute). About a week or so ago I started to hear whining from the transmission....particularly in 5th and 6th gear....then this past Wednesday, while I was on the interstate, the tranny quit working altogether....wouldn't go into any gear....after roadside service towed it to nearest dealer,...now they are trying to say I abused it and they won't cover it under warranty......absolutely ridiculous

Best not to rely on warranty when buying a car. I know I dont. Shit is a rip off. Fuck the manufacture and do your own work. You can do it better anyway.

Scout, fight them... Ford has shown to be a significant pain in the ass with mustang warranty...

My trans does not whine but it gives me a creepy feeling at the touch, it's too soapy, I can't feel the gears in my finger when change gears but I feel it's a weak trans altogether if I'd kicked its skinny chinese ass at the track.
