Today i went to shift from 2nd to 3rd and the pedal dropped to the floor and I couldn’t go into gear. There isn’t any leaking fluid and the brake reservoir is full. There is however a whining noise that wasn’t there before when I start the car. The clutch pedal isn’t dead and there is still plenty of pressure and I can feel the car is moving some when I try to out it in gear. Any ideas what it could be? Slave cylinder?

sounds like the clutch is fried.
That’s what my mechanic is leaning towards. With the car off it will go into all the gears like it should so I’m hoping it will only need clutch, flywheel, throw out bearing and what not

Replace the pilot bearing too. Not many do but I had warranty work done to replace my TOB and master cylinder. Took the opportunity and upgraded my clutch since they were dropping the trans. Been having issues for over a year. Long story short…replace pilot bearing for peace of mind.

Make sure you go oem on the slave cylinder.

Why would you recommend the oem over say the mcleod hydraulic? And pilot bearings is the standard or high load recommended?

No clue which pilot bearing you should use but do a quick Google search on the slaves. Mcleod and other aftermarket ones are hit or miss. Or call calimer transmissions or any other reputable vendor. They will recommend oem too.

I would go with high load. That’s what I’m putting in. Better part and the cost difference is minimal. People seems to have more issues with aftermarket TOB versus OEM
