That sounds like the better method.Yes. It will reset the amp as it controls the level of the chimes. Car doesn't have to be running. Just open the door and within a few seconds unplug the brown one. All you need to do is make sure the amp gets power cycled. Then press the start button then plug it back in. Just adding that you want to make sure you hear the tones come from the dash before you plug the brown cable back in.
