Maintenance on E85

you can't get e100 at the pump.

I just got a batch that is so far testing above E95. I cannot see a separation line.

Going to wait 10 more min and check again.

Ford says to run a tank of 93 every oil change to lube things. 1 OZ of lube every other tank of E85 won't hurt the O2's.

I didn't think you could get E85 in Canada.

@wazslow thats good to hear I rather not have to use anything just seen a couple things showing cali e is made a certain way being 85-90 percent and is more dry not sure if there’s any truth to that just trying to learn since this is my first full e car.

running a tank of gas isn't off the shelf lube.

The tune considers 65% 100%. Unfortunately I had 1/2 tank of 93 in the car so I cannot test higher timing or different fueling. Maybe on my next fill it will still be this high. This station usually tests at 80%

gotcha, I had Juggernaut make my E85R tune actually E75R to be extra safe and since my station tests at around 80

Methanol still needs a lube. I also think ethanol needs a lube.

You do you.

Flex fuel vehicle engines never required additional additives running pump Ethanol. The engines didn’t use any different top end metals than straight gasoline engines.

Now, if running 99-100% Ethanol or Methanol, that may open a whole new discussion about additives?

Also, I’m not saying 2-4oz of MMO isn’t going to hurt anything FWIW.
